because they are at that age when everything revolves around them... they are stil young, they're immature and they're selfish -- they don't care about other people, they only care about themselves and if you're one of those adults who tell them to "get real" or something then you don't "understand" them. -- i know... i hate teenagers like that. i was somewhat like that -- but i grew up from a different country and was in a catholic school for most of my life so i was more humble than the typical teenagers.

as i grew older, yes, life is hard -- but i never forget about other people who don't get to eat everyday and that shuts me up whenever i feel like complaining. as teenagers, they don't have that capability yet to emphatize with other individuals and see that there are people with bigger problems.

and if there are any teenagers who keep insisting that life is not fair and that adults do not understand them, here's my message to you "there are bigger problems out there than what you know right now. reason why your parents are controlling you is because they want to protect you."
it's shallow how one's life revolves around boyfriends, friends in school, parties etc. there are more other important things in life besides that you know?

Just to make it clear, I'm 31. And in response to the answers I've seen, it couldn't possibly be the adults that have the problem. Listen to yourselves. "Oh, they are just in a stupid stage." Or, "they think they know it all." I bet we'd have better teenagers if they were treated with respect, instead of being talked down to and then getting attitude for not giving respect. They are almost adults and are capable of making decisions, let them face their consequences after giving them the tools to make a good decision.

Teenagers have a whole truckload of influences that bombard them through their life. Sometimes there is a bad influence that causes the teenager to adopt the bad attitude, sometimes it is a stressful situation that causes the parent to take it out verbally on the teenager.
Pray to God that He will guide the parents and the children to His way. That He will light the way for all to come to Him and not let stress and bad influence impact the family, because in a sense, we are all God's Children and He wants to Love us.

It's just a part of growing up. Everyone goes through it at some point in their lives. I'm sure you felt the same way when you were a teenager at one time.
