It does really lighten your hair. It also damages it terribly and makes it feel like straw, and it will keep being blonde, and keep feeling like straw, until it grows out. If you want your hair to be blonde, go to a salon or buy a product for home use which was designed for use on your hair. Hydrogen peroxide is not an appropriate product. Your hair will look and feel horrible.

It won't look blond, it will look creepy white and damaged. I was once working in a hospital ER when someone came in who had been hit over the head with a booze bottle. I had to use hydrogen peroxide to get the dried blood out of his hair. I'll bet he was in for a shock when he looked in the mirror the next day.

I used peroxide and lemon juice for years to get a lighter blonde but you have to be out in the sun. Just like regular hair color when your hair grows and roots start to show you need to touch up. I loved that sun lightened appearance. Use a good shampoo and conditioner to combat the drying effect of coloring your hair. I love Infusium.

The drug store peroxide will absolutely lighten your hair but not enough. The peroxide in the grocery/drug stores is approximately 3%, the kind that is used in hair salons is 10-40%. There is a big difference. Hydrogen peroxide will usually make your hair look orange. Don't use it! :)

no its not permanent- do not do it!!!! LOL I knew a guy who did this and he ended up with orange hair- Use a products specifically for hair bleaching. They are more sensitive and less likely to fry your hair and plus... They come with instructions. There is NO WAY to permanently change your hair color, it will all eventually grow out or fade!

It's an ingredient in the professional dye used to make people's hair blonde. It's very strong and not good for your hair.

Yes, but please do not do it. It fries your hair and looks like crap. If you want blond hair, go to a good salon or if u want to do it yourself(I don't recommend it) then for your own sake, use a home hair dye product. Otherwise, you'll be sorry.
