Define correct English please.
Many people that speak with accents speak with better grammar than native speakers because they are taught the correct way.

I would call the other parents, and see what they think. If only you make a complaint, it's just going to look like you have a problem with the teacher and won't get very far. However, if more than a few of you make a complaint to the school board, then something can be done.
No, it's not right that someone who is teaching other students isn't teaching them correct English, regardless of where you live. If there are other teachers in the same grade, I would ask for a switch also.
But, if nothing can be done about getting a good teacher - you'll have to weigh your pros and cons of the situation. I personally have my children go to a school 10 miles farther, than the one closer to my home, because they get a better education there.
Only you can control your child's future. Don't let their education go to waste.

Well, pre-school have different levels of certification, and usually the requirements are more along the line of how many students there are per teacher. Since it's not a public facility, then the pre-school is free to hire anyone, no teaching certificates required. If you're not happy with the level of education then you're free to shop around for another pre-school. Or you can look this as an opportunity for your child to learn another language.
And bravo Jennifer Q, you are so on the money, an accent does not mean a person is not speaking correctly.

Wow- ok so your question has really received some fierce remarks- So to all of the offended readers, I do believe that the author meant that Teachers with accents are inferior but that she is concerned that her child will learn to pronounce the words incorrectly because the child is hearing the words pronounced incorrectly- And yes, it can be an issue depending on the age of the child- when a Teacher who has a pronounced accent is working with children who are just learning to talk then it is important that they learn correctly- but that same Teacher working with an older group of children would be more acceptable- then it becomes an issue of the older child understanding what the Teacher is trying to pronounce- As far as your level of happiness with your provider, if your child's education is important, you will find an environment that he or she will thrive in... it may mean that you must go out of your way to find a place but isn't it worth it ? try your local resource agency for childcare centers- Good luck-

Why? Is the teacher a foreigner? Not that this makes a difference, there are plenty of Americans who can't speak correct English.
In Miami, I'm not surprised... 3/4 of Miami is Cuban.

You are free to put your child in any pre-school you wish. One can find a zillion excuses, but the truth is that if it were truly important to you, you wouldn't keep your child there.
Instead, you leave your child in a place you deem as "unacceptable" and come on Yahoo Answers to complain-in badly written English, to boot! Have you no shame?
If this is so important to you, you would walk/drive/fly to a school with teachers that are acceptable, by your standards.
And brush up on you writing skills if you hope to help your kid with homework sometime...

From your example it sounds like the preschool teacher has an acent. Don't judge someone just because they pronounce sounds a bit differently. If you LISTEN to a person speaking with an accent, in a short time your brain learns to hear them clearly.
And you have preschool choices, if you're not happy, find another one. :)

It's another sign of how our government isn't protecting us,and is letting hispanics take over our nation.
Find a baby sitter instead, and home schooling if possible.
