My dad seems to think that my dog Alie is going "Bad" because she's always in my room and i listen to Alt. Rock. Could this be true?

They say it does. I don't think that's why she is being bad. They say it's soothing to them...like it is to a baby.

Why don't you punish her when she's bad? I mean I punish mine just like they were kids, and they are well behaved (for cats lol).

Music can either calm an animal or make it very excitable, and nervous. I would believe that alt. rock would be making your dog excessively excitable -- this may be a bad thing try letting your dog listen to calmer music, just as an experiment, see what happens?

Yes, that could be true. The mood of the music could be affecting her mood. For example, classical music may make them happier and hard rock could make them angry or anxious. I'm not saying you should start playing Mozart or anything, but you might want to think about not playing as much or as loud while she's in there, or put her in another room. Good luck!

no way! I think pets enjoy the vibrations of the music..so enjoy it ! let your animal groove . The dog is not going to turn into a cujo any time soon. It can't be the music. So let your dog rock on! or in your case....alt. rock on!

I suppose it could.

I listen to hard rock, alternative rock, 80's music of all kinds, broadway, and the occasion pop rock.

My dogs don't seem any different, though.

I think your father is right. Certain music can sooth the beast, but the wrong type of music affects pets the opposite way.

the only way music would affect pets is if they were is when at the present time they feel scared, they would not be affected when the music is no longer playing

I've heard they enjoy classical music and anything soft and soothing. Loud Clangy music only agitates them.
