That's the nature of panic attacks, they come out of nowhere.

That being said, doctors often call something "anxiety" when they can't find what's wrong with you. If they look at the usual suspects and everything looks fine, they will just label it as anxiety as opposed to investigating further.

I would go back to the doctor and demand tests if you truly believe something physical is going on. Or try anti-anxiety meds and see if they help your symptoms.

You are your own best advocate and if you think something is wrong, keep going to the doc, insisting that they continue to look for a cause. You know yourself whether it's anxiety or something more physical.

Oh I'm so sorry.... I know exactly how you feel. Anxiety can cause all sorts of symptoms. Try going to a doctor for a check-up just to make sure everything is okay. Also, there are treatments for anxiety and panic attacks. Alot of times people only have to use medication until they are better able to recognize and control their symptoms. My panic attacks also came out of nowhere..... I went to the emergency room because I could not breathe and my heart was beating so fast...It is very scary and when you get scared things only get worse. But anxiety is not always panic attacks. Those of us that have it have to deal with some of the symptoms on a daily basis. I still have bad days sometimes. Well good luck and don't worry you will be just fine. Those symptoms DEFINITELY sound like anxiety!!!!!

I had severe anxiety but it is greatly under control! It lasted for around 8 years. I did get a little panicky from two days before my most recent exam - but this is normal. Otherwise I sleep well and am calmer from my antidepressant. I also take a beta blocker called at times of severe nervousness, which helps block the physical manifestations of my anxiety. I no longer sit and worry constantly about every single aspect of my life. It's here to be enjoyed, not wished away or spent ruminating. . I also eat a healthy diet, and, now that my pills have kicked in, I've been motivated to go out and do some walking. 1 hour a day walking really helps to get rid of excess nervous energy. Before, I would leave the house only if I absolutely had to.

I remember you

Sometimes it can be trigger by something bothering you. I was calm once as well and just like you, it came out of no where. Panic attacks feel like you're going to die but they won't kill you. The anixety will do different things to your body. Irritable Bowel syndrom ecan occurr. You get tired and your social life changes a bit.

Has your doctor not suggested you to see a phychiatrist or psychologist? Did he recommend any sort of medication or ways for you to battle this? From your words it just sounds like your doctor doesn't take your condition serious.

Panic attacks and social anxiety is difficult to live with if you can't find some way to control it. This is somthing that should be taken care of. If your doctor is taking this lightly then I suggest you find another one.

I found something online for you to read. Sometimes it even more scary when you do not know what is happening to you. When it happened to me I was very scared but when I found out what it was and that many other people experience it.. then I felt a little better because it meant that the condition is recognized and that there are ways to handle it.

I really hope this helps you a little bit.
Again... I suggest Tai Chi. Its not a fast moving Martial Art... its slow and relaxing plus you get to learn cool fight moves that look liek innocent hand gestures.

Well, it certainly is anxiety if you are constantly worrying. I would recommend that you talk to someone. Running should be helping with some of the problem, but I believe talking to someone will help put your mind at ease. I have been through the same thing before and sometimes it feels like there is never an end in sight. It sounds like there is something going on in your life that might be stemming these issues. For example, a stressful situation in your personal life. Talk to someone, you will feel much better. Dont be alarmed, you are not alone. Good luck.

This is very common and panic attacks can even occur while you are relaxing or while you sleep. Anxiety/panic attacks often start happening after a stressful period in your life but not always. Tell your doctor your symptoms. A good doctor will always run lab tests first, esp. for thyroid problems to rule other problems out. Most likely it is anxiety-- a seriously uncomfortable problem which no doctor should "blow off". They may start you on an antidepressant (like Prozac for example) which works for anxiety as well. And you may need to take something to calm you such as Ativan or Xanax when you are having anxiety.

Sounds like you are a bit anxious right now. Most likely your doctor is right, just find some relaxing and enjoyable things to do. Don't forget mind over matter...try not to think about it, and definately do not think that you are going to die!

Of course if you are still feeling really bad GET A SECOND opinion. Doctors are only human and make mistakes just like us. Keep a journal, what you ate that day, activities, and symptoms. The journal will help the doc see any patterns. Good luck!

If you really and truly aren't facing anything that is making you anxious, you should get a second opinion about your physical health. You can't always just take the word of one doctor, because they are human and make mistakes. But it does also sound like you might be "anxious" about your condition. The wondering about what is "wrong" with you might be making you feel worse. Being nervous or worried can definitely give you physical symptoms, but I'd talk to another health professional about this one. Good luck!

I think I would try to limit my caffeine intake. I would also think about any lifestyle changes I've made recently like dietary or weight loss supplements. If nothing else I would see another doctor for a 2nd opinion. Sometimes to much or not enough sleep can cause this. You may also have an allergy.
