the easiest way i found to stop my gsd from jumping up on people is get him into a dog training class they get u to sit the dog while people walk right by you with there dogs as well this will get him used to people and i also take small treats (cheese) with me while walking him and when ever any one goes by i bring out the treat and get him to sit and pay attention to me while there walking by and give him the treat if he didnt jump up

you could try usein a halti thats good for keeping control of his head u contorl the head u control the dog lol
the most important thing to do is talk to your dog

good luck :)

A well-trained dog makes everyone happy, including his owner. Take a little time training him, and you'll never regret it; you'll always have an obedient dog by your side. Find more https://tr.im/gNCTw

By their nature, dogs are pack animals with a well-defined social order. Through basic training, you need to consistently make sure your puppy understands that you are the leader, not him. So in teaching him the basic rules, you take on the role of pack leader.

To fit into the family circle, your dog must be taught to recognize his name and such commands as come, heel, lie down and sit.

If you know your big breed pup jumps up at people, then when you are about to pass someone on the pavement you get him under control BEFORE he jumps up!
Put him on a Halti headcollar or Gentle Leader instead of a collar to give you more control.
Take him to obediance to learn how to be a more effective dog handler!
Libraries are stuffed full of dog training books that tell tou how to teach your dog to wlk to heel. Use one.

Restraining him before he jumps would be best, but then you need to socialise him as well. Try sitting in the local high street so that people walk past all the time and he can see that it is ok for people to walk past. Try speaking to an obedience school, they should be able to offer advice too.

Keep him fenced in! Also, when you walk him, use a leash that wraps over the nose. This gives you control of his head and helps you deter such behavior. He needs to be socialized badly and the BEST way to do this is by enrolling him in an obedience class (and completing the whole course).

he prolly suffers from Anxiety .. when he sees other people of other dogs since he is still young ..the best way is to let him play with other "friendly" dogs. Had a similar issue with a German sheppard / Pitbull mix.

or you can, use a metal can with some coins in it. . that sound usually scares them & helps them behave. . instead of hitting them.

hope this helps. . .

Learning how to train your dog will improve your life and hers, enhance the bond between you, and ensure her safety and it can be a lot of fun. Dogs are usually eager to learn, and the key to success is good communication. Your dog needs to understand how you’d like her to behave and why it’s in her best interest to comply with your wishes.
