I think you should see a doctor.

well. from experience i can tell you that humans are hard wired to find some activities "exciting". for males testosterone makes becoming a killing machine seem like a fun idea, because that hormone overrides good sense at your age. it's your life. but, i would say that if you could, for just five minutes, fast forward to age,say 45 to 50, or even lower if unusually wise, you would chuckle at the thought of wanting to go to iraq to only add to the horror, and not unlikely come back at least permanently emotionally scarred, if not also physically. also, what is being fought for in iraq, and probably soon elsewhere in the region, is the increased wealth and comfort of the very few, at the cost of many lives of us mere peasants. so if you do go, good luck, but first think long and hard about all the possible consequences.

I was in Iraq twice, first during the initial war in '03, then from Aug '04 to Aug'05 and was an Army Infantryman. First time in Mosul, 2nd time in Ramadi. It was an incredible, wacky, crazy, life altering, focusing, humbling and empowering experience. If you can go over there and survive and kick *** and come back home, there isn't anything you can't accomplish in life as a civilian. I am in the process of becoming a police officer in Phoenix, and many people have asked me "Isn't that a dangerous city?" My response " As long as the drug dealers and gang members aren't planting IED's (roadside bombs), than I can handle it!"
I think you should do it...if thats what your heart tells you to. It's something that will be a part of you forever.

Join the Air Force if you have to join any branch of the Armed Forces. Pilots are will educated, their maintance crews get treated very well and the food in their mess hall are very good. Not everyone can become a pilot but there is something always to do in the Air Force. As for combat you see enough of that when your flying an airplane.

Of course, you should do whatever your recruiter tells you. No, really you need step back and take a long look about what you want to do in the long run and get the training for that. Don't forget only 10% of the Marines fight the other 90% is support.

My job as an infantryman is Not to die for my country but to let that other bastard die for his. That's a paraphrase from Patton. You will kill for your country and not like it. You will not enjoy it nor will you want to do it. But you will complete all of your missions regardless of consequences so that you nation will be victorious. Get the picture. Don't be excited to kill. Be excite for the danger and knowing that if you train hard enough you and your team mates will get out alive and well and that jihadist will be dead.

If this is something that you truly have your heart set on, then you should do it. You must really evaluate how you feel about this before doing so because once you join, there really isn't a way of getting out of your military service. I'm sure you'll make the right decision. Good luck!

i suggest you also take squad medic training (aka combat medic) right now we have a shortage and you get more honor then just killing for your country but for that you have to join the navy and hope to get sent in with a marine unit cause the marines still dont have their own branch but are in the navy so A)join the marines and get a gun, B) join the navy up for medic training and hope to get sent to a marines, C)persuade the brass that its in the countrys best intrest to become its own branch and become the first marine combat Doc. anyway you choose remember that at heart your a DEVIL DOG OOOORRAHH!!!!!!!

Only thing is they test you and place you in the best job for your skills.
If you can run with a 100 pound weight for 24 hours then you might get to be a grunt.
If you can run with 300 pounds then you could be a Mortar base plate guy.
