What are you using the vinegar for? If you are using it in a recipe, the apple cider vinegar will give it a different taste. If you are using it for cleaning, such as washing windows, it doesn't matter which one you use. Yes, most vinegar should have an expiration date on it.

depends on what you are wanting it for...white vinegar is OK, but we use it mostly for cleaning windows...apple cider and red wine vinegar we use for salad dressings and other foods. Ours doesn't stay around long enough to expire. As long as it isn't homemade, the vinegar doesn't expire.

they are both excellent
depending on their use
white vinegar is a natural disinfectant and you can use it to clean all around the house.
apple cider vinegar is very good to drink well diluted with water.
it does miracles to your system, however, check with your doctor first....
there are lots of books about the benefits of vinegar, check them out at amazon or other sites.
good luck!

What is it being used for? Once you know then it's easier to figure out which is better.
