I have psoriasis in my inner ear or dermatitis, so I understand. (I use vaseline on a Q-tip)

This is from Dermatitis. A lot of times it seems to affect the sides of the nose too or just any area between skin folds. The best treatment is a cream called Elidel available by prescription only.

No way. The skin on the inside of your ears is just like the rest of your skin...it needs to be lubricated every once in a while. Try lotioning or putting some sort of moisturizer on your ears once a week.

You could just not be getting all of the soap or shampoo out.
