It depends on when you go; what you want to see; and where you live. Been to both. Hawaii on the most part has the great year round weather. PR sits in the hurricane zone during the rainy and wet seasons. In Hawaii, it's not difficult to find paradise. In PR, you have to get out of the San Jaun area. It's still beautiful, but if you go down south, it's heaven. PR has gambling if that's your thing. PR has OLD SJ which has charm. Also depends on where you live. Do yourself a favor and take the shortest route possible. In the west, just go to Hawaii. In the East, go to PR.

It's Hawaii hands-down. It is a paradise with a lot of different terrains to explore. From the volcanoes to the greenery to the beaches, it's all there. The Hawaiian people are extremely friendly and gracious as well.
