no as long as you have confessed and believe in your heart that Jesus died for your sins you are saved. the fellowship and worship time spent at church is worth taking an hour out of your week to go though.

Here goes an honest answer to a honest question.
What is religion but a way for a group of people to deal with death. Organized forms of religion are used by groups of people to control other people.
God does not care if you are saved or not, only other people are. If you are a true follower of Christ then you take your church and your belief with you at all times. It has nothing to do with going to some building that some guy says is a house of woreship. It has more to do with how you are as a person.
Believe in God, follow God in all aspects of life and he will accept you into his kingdom. Dont believe what others tell you, find out what works for you. And if they dont like it, that is because they can not control you.

No, but a Christian who is capable of going to church and chooses not to is most likely a very immature believer. Everything we are commanded to do and to be in the Bible is in the context of relationships--both with other believers and with unbelievers. If you ignore the church body, then you are not using your God-given gifts to build up the church--just one of the commands you have to ignore if you don't attend church. We are also told not to "forsake assembling together as some people do." Christians really set themselves up for weakness and failure when they separate themselves from the body of believers.

no, you don't have to attend a specific place of worship to be a good christian, And that all important "saved' that so many fundamentalists scream about isn't necessary, either. You just have to believe that Jesus died for your sins, and try to live a good life. Its amazing the number of people's respones to, 'yes, I'm Christian', is 'But have you been saved?' I think they really mean , 'Then why don't I see you at MY church?'

well that is going to depend on the denomination - ie-catholic has different beleifs than say mormons.....
My personal beleif is that it is about love, recognition and above all faith. I dont personally agree with the "institution" of church but the teachings are for the most part sound. I beleive my church is the one god gave me....the sun, the trees, everything in nature.....appreciation is an excellent substitute for attending a gathering in a place built by business and often focused on collections.

Of course not.
But the apostle Paul instructed that it is very important that we do.
Why? In "The Purpose Driven Life" Rick Warren said that if we want to become more like Jesus we have to serve and be around other people, as he was and as he did. How greatly can you grow alone, or apart from other believers.
Also - other believers and hearing The Word of God taught increases our growth - we should not miss that.
We may also fall away easier if we are not connected to the church.

No, church begins in the believer's heart. It's a lot easier to help build the Kingdom of God if a believer is apart of an organization that is following Christ and actually doing ministry for Him. Being a believer is being apart of the body of Christ. So why not be apart of some body of believers?

According to the "rules" as long as one believes in their heart that Jesus Christ is the son of God who died for their sins then they are "saved" However there is also a verse....Hebrews 10:25 "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another and so much more, as ye see the day approaching." But then again that was back in the Old Testament (Jewish) and so is it even relevant.... dam I got so far into a really good answer and then blew it the end... chit!!! Oh well, hope you liked my answer....lmao Best wishes

Churches are the worst part of Christianity. Better to take a hike out in nature.
