If everyone was SECURE enough in THEMSELVES, their OWN spirtuality (spirituality not neccessarily meaning religion), their OWN thoughts, feelings, beliefs, etc....the world would be a much nicer place to live. Religion tends to make things ugly. I don't mean individual people within any particular religious sect, but religion as a whole.

If everyone believed what they do 100%. Then all others would be in blasphemy. Should their spiritual path include murdering all people who did not believe what they did, i do not see how it would be any different then it is now.
It is not about what we know, its about how tolerant we are as individuals. Many religions try to unite everyone under a common banner hoping this need for tolerance will no longer be needed. Hence the religious battle taking place today.

Silence

If we would believe in one religion, it would be nice, but that is impossible. I can't understand why people don't believe in the God of the Bible. every word that is in the bible make sense. The commandments and the teaching make sense in life. The Bible is abut reality, the past and the future. I look for things that may not be true but cannot find any. We are stubborn people and refuse to believe. We harden our heart just as the Bible says.

All religions on the whole teach the same basic goodness of charity and care for neighbour, and support the growth and progress of societies.

As a Christian I believe that God's way is the best and most beautiful way. How exactly does "religion" make things ugly? I find my worship of God as the Creator helps me see beauty in things that non-creationists won't see.

well for me religion is a way of life because religion brings in controls of our actions, it makes us think about our felllow beings, and for the god who made this wonderful worlds all religions have rules and if you follow them life is definitely more simple and easier to live, imagine if people were allowed to do what ever they wanted to like marriage they would be no reason for that, you can covert thy neighbour s wife or goods, you can hurt another human cause you know thee is no punishment for it, if countrys make laws to control its people and we live by those laws gods laws are the same and if we could follow man made laws why not the laws of religion

People make things ugly by not believing in God, we should share what we know, but not fight about it, we all have our choice of eternal life in Gods Kingdom and all we can do is share our gifts with others, not push someone.
