There will be variables to deal with on that little project. First, we need to know what type of fabric we're dealing with, polyester, nylon, silk, etc. Oddly enough, the Chinese have been getting stains out of silk with just water for hundreds of years. Next, find out if the hair dye consisted mainly of protien. Remember, it takes Protien to remove Protien, ie: best way to remove a blood stain is with raw meat, once the old stain loosens up, it can be removed by light brushing w/water.

Next time you dye your hair-wear an old shirt-I never found anything that will get hair dye out-unless its not a permanent dye.

If it's permanent dye, you're in trouble. If you really like that garment, you might want to consider dying it entirely in black - with clothes dye.

This is gonna sound nuts but mixing cigarette ashes with shampoo works..its the carbon in the ashes. i once dyed my hair black and got dye EVERYWHERE and it totally worked

i don't think that will come out unless u really use a lot of bleach on your cloths and that might fade it if the pants or shirt u waisted it on might fade
