I know it's probably in Wales, but cannot find any further information about that place!

Llanddwyn Island is on Anglesey, North Wales. I think you have the spelling wrong. Llanwddyn doesn't seem correct for a Welsh word, although technically it could be, but I believe that it's more likely that the spelling is incorrect.
Llanddwyn is on the west coast of Anglesey. look for Newborough beach on the map and follow the coast line and Llanddwyn Island is at the North Western tip of the Island. I used to live close to Newborough beach and Llanddwyn is a fabulous place with a wonderful ancient history.

there's a hamlet/village/town to the south-east of a lake called Llanwddyn to the east of Snowdonia. It's in Powys. SY10 is the post code. I presume the island is in the lake
