I have a six year old beagle and a two year old beagle. Just for the hell of it one day we set up a video camera. It was quite interesting. Our 6 year old beagle sat on the sofa and barked/howled for at least an hour after we left that morning. Our other beagle just slept on the floor and didn't howl or bark once. I think it depends on the dog and their anxieties.

Look at it this way - if you were a dog, would you like to be left alone all day by yourself when there are rabbits to hunt and squirrels to tree? Yes, if they see something they want to chase, they'll howl, if they hear something they want to "report", they'll howl. A bark collar might help, for in the house or out of the house.

Some do, so do some dogs in other breeds. I used to have a border collie that would howl when left.

its separation anxiety. some dogs r afraid b-ing left alone. if ur like, reeli close 2 ur dog and u leev it alone, it gets scarrd cuz ur not wit him/her
