edible peels?

Perhaps if they would engorge with fluid and grow stiff when rubbed briskly... that would make them more popular with the ladies.

I mean, as Kirk Cameron pointed out, they've already got a point that makes them perfect to fit into the human mouth. Form your lips into an O, and you'll see what I mean.

Edit - Oh hell, I'm giddy now. Seraph just made my day. ****, I need to start doing my job instead of reading this stuff... :)

Do you know what evolution really is?

The answer is no...it would be the complete opposite.

Edible peels would make them more susceptible to being picked or eaten by animals...which is the exact opposite way evolution works.

So it is more likely that if bananas DID evolve, they would grow thorns or a TOUGHER, LESS edible peel than before..

I realize you asked your question in a joking manner...but I decided to give you a serious answer anyway... :)

They will have more subtle levels of color coding to tell us more about the edibility of their contents. They will also sing and dance the can can. Dinner and a show, you know.

Not edible peels---maybe nasty-smelling, hard peels with sharp thorns---for survival ;-)

They will evolve legs and peel themselves as they walk into our mouths.

That is if the intelligent designer draws them that way of course.

I know this is a joke, but actually, bananas are on the verge of being bred right out of existance.
