Yep, well close, Chanterelle is a wonderfully delicious mushroom. It tastes kind of like a woodsy apricot. Delicious sauteed in butter and served with rack of lamb.

Uh, yes. I wanted to tell you that the first time around - chanterelle mushrooms. I really wish people would investigate the names they use for their kids. But don't worry about it, you've lived with it for eight years and your version of it reminds one more of "chanting" and not fungi.

An edible mushroom (Cantharellus cibarius) that is yellow to orange in color, trumpet-shaped, and sometimes fragrant.

Chanterelle Mushroom yes that exists also named chantrella.
But why give your kid such a stupid name? People name their children these days like they are some pet cat or dog.
The names sounds like tarantula.

Sorry, but it is. The mushroom is usually spelt Chantrelle, but it is also spelt Chantrella(not as often). Most people are not aware of this though. BTW... I think it's a beautiful name regardless.
