Considering god cant be proven or disproven, why do we pick sides? Im not Anti-god or Anti-religion, But im truthful to myself and im not going to hope jesus or whoever will come down and save the world whilst it goes to ruins. We all have the power to change things for the better, So why are we all picking sides?, Nobody really knows anything.. Nobody is right, The only person who is right is the one who tries to make a positive difference, for whatever reason. Are we going to fight forever because, i ask now
to the thiest: Will jesus die for us again, because were still sinning
to the aethiest: We're all going to die and its only us again.

If good men sit and do nothing, they are just as evil as evil men. I dont believe in good, or evil, i try not to take sides, i try to keep an open mind. But why do we all pick sides when both KNOW neither of them can ultimately prove what they believe. Are we just struggleing to be right?
Struggleing to be right, whilst other people suffer and die

Good point.

You don't have to, you can be an agnostic. That is someone who finds the answer of God's existence, not to mention the details of who God is and what he wants (if anything) unknowable.

It is a valid position, and very close to mine (weak atheism).

I agree with you that actions speak louder than words. We should focus our lives on being good people, preventing pain in others, and enjoying life. Not in tearing down others and damning people over the silly predilictions of an ultimately unknowable deity that may or may not exist.

Oh, man ... BLESS YOU!!! YES! Its OK to believe, or disbelieve, in anything. If ~fill~in~the~blank~ and believing in it or not believing in it gives the individual comfort and/or helps them live a positive life I'm in their corner ... Even if I disagree. Its not about picking sides, its not an "us" verses "them" thing. Its a "we" thing, because WE are all on this ball of dirt TOGETHER. Personal responsibility, putting aside differences that don't matter anyway, working together on the things that do matter in tolerance and with acceptance ... YES! THAT'S what its all about, or at least I believe that's what it SHOULD be all about. I am my own best example. "I wouldn't talk about myself half so much if I knew anyone else half so well." H. D. Thoreau. I'm a theist, and I am not religious. I have no axe to grind, I don't care WHAT, if ANYTHING, the other person believes. I just want us to work together on what's important ... Clean air, clean water, food for the worlds billions, and peace for those same billions. Those are the things I want. And I want them for the Atheist, Agnostic, Theist, and all the folks not wearing labels. ~ Peace & Blessings ~

Why do we have to pick a side? Well, as a Christian I have to go by what Jesus said.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Matthew 12:30 Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.

You make life sound worthless. Lets all just kill ourselves now.

No get ye this. People need to learn to accept others beliefs and live with them. Why should one person care what another believes? They are two seperate human beings. That is what is so scary about islam is that it tells its followers to convert non-believers or kill them.

The world would be a much better place if people would just worry about themselves. I am a Christian but I don't try to tell people what is right and wrong. I live my life the way I want to and don't care what others do. They are responsible for themselves.

Don't be lukewarm b/c lukewarm water doesn't taste good. Pick a side and choose life not death...
Revelation 3:15-16
I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

You don't have to pick but if you don't........you picked anyway (Jesus said those who are not for me are against me). Like the guy said earlier, your eternity is a stake. We'll spend it somewhere, Heaven or hell. I'd say better pick, eternity is a long time my friend.

its not a fact of write or wrong its what you believe. and manychoose sides because thats what they believe. whether you beleive God is real or not is on you but i would rather live like there is a God and be proven right than live like there is no God and be proven wrong.

WE HAVE TO PICK SIDES BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT MAN WANTS US 2 DO. ITS HIS WAY OF CONTROLLING US BY SCARING US. EX: "IF U DONT PRAY, BELIEVE, HAVE FAITH IN GOD U WILL GO TO HELL". I'M NOT COMPLETELY SURE YET, I DO BELIEVE THERE IS AN AFTERLIFE BUT I'M STARTING TO THINK HELL IS A MAN MADE CONCEPT. NOW IF U DO SOMETHING BAD, I'M SURE YOURE SOUL WILL HAVE TO PAY WHEN U DIE-IN ONE FORM OR ANOTHER, BUT AS FOR BURNING AND DRAGONS AND STUFF NO I DONT THINK SO.

Now that you've come down off that soapbox, I didn't "pick a side." When I was young, people told me there was a god and I didn't believe them.

i became in this difficulty. I informed my acquaintances to quit arguing because it became going to get us no the position. We went out and we talked and they both requested me to %. aspects. those were my perfect acquaintances and that i hated having to make your recommendations up on so i did not. I informed them that until eventually they looked after out in spite of they were arguing about i became neither of their acquaintances. they did not quite have the different acquaintances because they're very ineffective so they worked it out. Then apologised for making me %. aspects and they get alongside plenty more desirable now.
