The internet is not a place for 10 year olds, especially if your parents aren't supervising. There are perverts all over the internet. So stay out of chatrooms if your 10. Chat rooms are usually for teenagers or adults...NOT KIDS!

Just being honest :)

I agree, my almost 10 year old does not step near a chat room. There is no need for it at that age. Chatting with a family member is all, IMO, that should be allowed through messenger. And even then, it is my account used. I see no need for kids at that age to do anything but create real life relationships with peers. Too many nuts out there to take an unnecessary risk like that.

They can't exist. Its impossible for the forum administrators to tell whether someone is genuinely 10 years old or not.
Chat is not a good habit to get into for a 10 year old anyway. Try to get them interested in learning a program or photography or something constructive instead. I know that sounds snotty but theres better things someone that age can be doing with their time.

Its not the chatroom itself that is not safe, its your kid. If your kid doesnt know any better he/she will fall for many things in life. If you teach your kids right, they wont fall for any of the chatroom bullshit. Parents with daughters are too busy dressing them up like skanks and filling their minds with sexual ideas (indirectly), and somehow they dont think this affects the child. These kids go to these chatrooms looking for sex!!!

Teach ur damn kids.

I think that chat rooms are not for any youngster under the age of 16 and even then it can be dangerous. Kids are wanting to grow up too fast these days and do what adults do, Why don't you take your child to drama lessons or something like that they can be enjoyable.

I really don't think chat rooms are suitable for under 10's.

Sorry - not being a nasty person, but it's true. There's NEVER any way of knowing for sure who they're chatting to - and they're too young at that age not just to trust everybody.

Not here and anything can be infiltrated.

Make sure said kid knows that and never goes to meet anone alone no matter how nice they seem...

Make them see that advert where someone preteneds to be a kid.

Monitor eveything. Don't jump to conclusions either.

If they post questions here... Those who answer no matter how graphically detailed are usually trying to help and educate. Its the ones who want to meet up with people who prest a risk, They may be kids themselves who are nieve and seltered aie dangerously stupid... or could be dangerous...

Also notwe... web cames and mics can be hacked and remotely viewed

There aren't love. It doesn't matter how strongly the chat room moderators/webmasters enforce and police them. There is always going to be the sick pedophiles who can sneak their way into those chat rooms by posing as little kids. Don't take the risk, love. There's no limit to how low people can sink and how they get there.
