That's a really good question. I've studied this account a lot and the snake is figurative for Satan, since Satan was using a serpent to communicate with Eve. The bruising in the head is also figurative. It means that he will be killed. He's not dead yet, in fact the Bible says he and all the angels that chose to follow him were "cast down to the earth". That's why there's so much trouble in the world today, because they are all among us. But soon, Jesus, the king of God's heavenly Kingdom, will bind Satan and get rid of his influence in the world. And after that, he will kill him, which is what that bruising in the head means. Permanent destruction. If you want to know where I'm getting all this information, its all from the Bible. You can check out this website for more information. This is our only official website- so please only rely on information from this site to represent our beliefs. I Hope this helps you a little.

In Genesis God prophesied that Jesus would bruise Satan in the head, God told Adam he would die in the day he ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, he lived just over nine hundred years which in God's terms at the time was within the day. He lived long enough to help populate the earth. After the flood man's years became 70, 80 if he had special mightyness. Medicines help alot nowadays but you can see most people still only reach the age of 70 to 80.

no the snakes head gets crushed

did you not see the cool opening of The Passion when Jesus stomps on the head of the snake, it was an illusion to this verse

He will strike his heal but he shall crush his head.
The seed of the woman will crush the head of the serpent

The seed of the woman is a phrase prenant with meanin if there ever was one Genesis 3:15

a person born of woman, not man, a virgin birth
a feminine vindication
not merely an offspring of Adam and Eve both

Jesus who defeated death by dying at the cross.
Satan stuck his heal, but Satan's ultimate doom was sealed
and head was crushed

Adam and Eve were designed to live forever by the sustaining power of God and warned if they sinned they woulrd die
Lesson learned sin will kill ya despite what the snake on the street says

Peoplelive about 900 years and the earth was filled with sin and violence and God restrained people live to roughly 70 years after the flood cause them to experience old age faster

In the first story about a couple experiencing old age, the curse so to speak on the word, Abraham and Sarah are given a blessing also... a child would be born to Abraham the man with no family and every family would be blessed in him... and they can be through the decendant of Abraham and the seed of the woman... Genesis 3:14, 15 says "And Jehovah God proceeded to say to the serpent: “Because you have done this thing, you are the cursed one out of all the domestic animals and out of all the wild beasts of the field. Upon your belly you will go and dust is what you will eat all the days of your life. And I shall put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will bruise you in the head and you will bruise him in the heel.”

The serpent = Satan; The Woman = Jehovah's Universal Organization. Satan's seed are those serving him. Jesus is the primary seed of the woman; his followers are a secondary part.

Jesus was "bruised in the heel" when he was murdered, and then resurrected. His death was temporary; painful though it was, thus the bruise in the heel comparison.

Soon now he will bruise Satan in the head, in other words destroy him forever.

Yes, it is there, except he was called a serpent. It is in Genesis, in the Garden of Eden. After God found what Adam and Eve had done, they were banished from the Garden, and God told the serpent, from this day forward you will bruise man's heel and he will bruise his head.

Satan's brused head was contrasted with the bruised heal of Eve's offspring to prophesy that Satan would be more inconvenienced by the introduction of sin into the world than people would.

Yes in the Genesis the bible speaks of bruising the head of the snake. I believe the snake is the devil and the one who bruises it is Jesus. I think this is when Jesus puts Satan under his feet. If im wrong someone please help me out. Thanx.

If I remember correctly it say you will bruise the seeds foot but I will bruise the snakes head. Saying that if you get hurt on your foot you will still live but if you get hurt on your head there is a big chance you will die. So the devil wont do any damage to Jesus but he will really do damage to the devil.

The "bruising of the head" is suppose to be prophecy that the snake that caused the downfall, will one day be defeated. Its a prophecy that Satan will not reign forever.
