You shouldn't get grounded (unless you do it all the time and were already warned not to do it). I know I might be a bit shocked if my kids yelled out a curse word, even if they were just singing it.

However, your parents are being extremely inconsistent by not also grounding your sibling for the same offense. It should be all or nothing for all their kids.

By the way---unless one of you is adopted--how can your younger brother only be 6 months younger? He'd have to be at least 10 or 11 months younger ???

Ummm, hello! You shouldn't be cussing at 15 and your brother looks up to you as a role model. Sure Eminem is the greatest white rapper ever but save the cussing for when you are 18. Then you can say all the shitfuckdamnassbitch you want!

While I believe that your brother should have gotten in trouble also, I agree with your parents for reprimanding you. Just because the song lyrics have curse words in them doesn't make it okay for you to do it. It is actions like this that cause people to blame music and Television for the actions of our children. While I believe that they are full of crap when they say kids are more violent because of these things there is a little truth to be found obviously. If you believe it is okay to swear because Eminem did it then you are part of the statistics that cause people to believe that violence is begat by the media. So yeah, kudos to your parents for punishing you for being a slave to the media.

This is funny. I had the same thing happen when I was young. Anyone remember "Big Bad Leroy Brown..." I was so excited to have an excuse to say "the badest man in the whole DAMN town" and I got in trouble for it!
I thought I was being sneaky and it didn't work.
NOW, eminem won't be allowed in this house, in my car, and no money will be spent on him or others like him. Waste of space, that one.

First of all, how is your brother 6 months younger than you?

If you are singing along with a song, you should continue to watch your language as that is an indication that it will progress one day.

Your a lady arent you? Well ladies are not suppose to swear its that simple. I have a brother that is 5 years younger then me and he gets away with everything and has always been allowed to do things I wasnt allowed to do when I was his age. Its totally sexist however parents for some reason worry way more about their daughters then their sons - WHEN really now a days its the boys who need extra work!

I think it is fair that you got grounded. . however your brother should be grounded as well. Eminem is an absolute piece of garbage for a human being. He has no talent at all and is simply taking advantage of the sorry state of today's youth who idolize complete losers. I commend your parents and actually think they should not allow you to even listen to his crap. Really . . what talent does he have. Ohhh . . WOW. . . he can swear. . . wow. . that takes no talent at all. He is about as talented as the piece of garbage 50 cent. Hey. . every time you buy one of these losers cds they get another ten dollars in the bank. . what do you get. . nothing.

I think it is fair if there is a rule about cussing already established. Radio stations play Eminem but 'bleep' out the bad words - you should too (and your brother should respect the rules as well).

Well first of all, I don't think it's a very good idea to be singing a eminem song around your parents in the first place..dont you think?

If you were my daughter, then I would ground you for cussing as well as listening to eminem. Your parents may not have heard your brother singing.
