My dog has dry skin. I bathe him regularly and use Herbal Essences condtioner for dry hair. No more scratching! Also, it could be allergies. The vet might prescribe some over-the-counter benadryl.

My step-mother always tells me to put a few drops of cooking oil on my cats food for his dry skin. Hey, it works.

For the time being I would treat your cat with 100% pure aloe vera. I would have the cat looked at by a vet for possible food allergies or disease.

I know some people who use bath oil on there pets. My friend buys the Original bath oil from Avon and uses it on her dogs. They have great fur and it is good for her skin.
I am sure you can use any "gentle" brand of bath oil though.
