It depends on the individual dog, but as a breed beagles are known to be howlers. Most scent-hounds are. There are three beagles that live on our street, and they all are very vocal.

I have had my beagle for 15 years now. He has always been good with kids. We never had a barking problem with him. He is more of a howler than a barker, but he never even did that very much. I really recommend beagles. They are the most active and loving family dogs.

yes i have to beagles and they bark at everything the reason is because beagles are known to be really good guard dogs and alot of hunters use them to track down animals.

mine is pretty quiet. Some can be noisy. you have to teach them not to bark. Mine goes nuts when the neighbor kids are nearby. He wants to play. He makes a wierd noise like a quiet howl that is funny sometimes.
