I do not like someone calling constantly, but I am more independent than most woman. I see people calling their spouses every break & lunch time as well as when they first come into work & right before they leave & it strikes me more as a sign of insecurity on one or both parts rather than a gesture of love.
Without knowing the complete details it is difficult to provide an answer. You did not say how old you were. A person of a young age (teens) would probably expect a call everyday.
You stated that you do not get to see her that much but did not say why. If it is a matter of distance, then the person you are with should have enough understanding that you are not able to run up a phone bill by calling every day.

Well that depends. Some girls expect it (and you'll lose points if you don't), some girls don't expect it (but would prefer if you do...you get good boyfriend points) and some girls really just don't care and are cool with talking to you when it happens. It depends on what type of girl your girlfriend is. My boyfriend doesn't call me every day and it was weird at first b/c I wasn't used to it (my exes usually did), but I didn't mind because I know he hates the phone. Now when he calls it's almost like a little surprise because I wasn't expecting it. I don't know if that helps, but that's a bit of a girl perspective.

It sure is. She might start thinking you're just not that into her. My boyfriend & I both work demanding jobs and live across town from each other right now. On the nights we can't see each other, he ALWAYS calls me, even if he's tired or is busy. He takes a moment out of the day because to him, hearing my voice makes him feel better. And hearing his voice makes me feel better. He'll tell me straight up if he's had a lousy day and just doesn't feel chatty right now, but he loves me and wanted to make sure my day was good. Likewise, he does the same for me. I'd call more if I were you.

It's a way of letting her know that you care. Even if you call her to talk for 5 minutes just to let her know you are thinking about her, it will make her feel better. And then explain to her her that you have a lot going on and can't talk long, you just wanted her to know you were thinking about her. If she doesn't understand after that, then she is probably expecting too much.

It is expected, only if she asks you to and you agree to it.
There is no difference between her being going to the store while you're at home watching TV, and her being at work. You two are still bonded and still think of each other when little things happen.
When you find the right person, you always want more time, but never need more time.

It depends. My boyfriend and I also have completely different schedules. I usually call him cause I basically know his schedule is usually the same. Sometimes however, I get sick of always calling him and just won't one day. He asks why I didn't call him. My answer, "Why didn't you call me if you were worried?" If your girlfriend knows your schedules are hectic she shouldn't expect to hear from you everyday. However, us girls do like to hear from our boys as much as possible.

Yes, you should always make the attempt to call. Even if you know she's not available, call and leave a message letting her know that you're thinking of her. Not in a desperate, stalkerish sort of way or anything, just in a polite "I-wish-you-were-here" type of thing.

i would say yes. you are not too busy to make a 5 minute phone call, if you really love her. you can spend the other 23hrs and 55 minutes on this site. or instead of using this site talk to her.
heheh, or dump her and i'll call her, J.K.

Maybe sometimes when your busy send a txt message to let her know your at least thinking of her? I used to do that when my wife and I were dating, and I sometimes still do it. Its a real pick me up for the girl.
