I believe in myself. I believe that God(s) and/or Goddess(es) are only the personification of an idea. The human mind has to have something that they can "see"....something more than just the idea. You couldn't say there is a God or isn't a God without being able to back it up....people have this "need" for something more than just an idea. Jesus and his desciples went around teaching people what they believed. They began to have "followers" because of their ability to persuade others that what they were saying was true. Adolf Hitler had the power of persuasion. Did that make what he was teaching right? Of course not! Have you ever heard the saying that "If you hear something often enough you will believe it yourself?" This is absolutely true. It's pure psychology.

A better question might be 'Do you believe that there are Gods?' since we have a whole world's belief systems to deal with here, not just our local group of Christians. But in any case, my answer to you is that I believe in the greatest miracle of all time, Humankind. Our continued existance and progress and characteristics continue to astonish and amaze me, all the more so because they were the result of a series of uncounted random circumstances and NOT the result of a whim on the part of some all-powerful being.

In order to understand the question we must determine what you mean by "GOD". If you are referring to the conscious Origin of all things, such as has been referred to by Moses or Jesus or even The Buddha, I must say YES.
Although it has been said by some that Buddha did not believe in any Gods, he in reality did teach about the Tathagata or All Mind, which he represented in much the same way as Jesus represented God, Our Heavenly Father. A formless God. This All Mind, and actually all of the rest of us, has an identity which we can only relate to in our limited nomenclature as conscious pure space. This is what our identity is, although we become distracted by the thinking mind and the 5 physical senses. Prayer or meditation has the benefit of helping us relate back to our original nature of purity and abandon attraction to corruptions of the so called "physical" world. Through taking refuge in God's Love & Holiness we have the ability to overcome some of the suffering associated with the world and realize what has been recorded as "miracles" of God's transcendent power. If we wish to know the actual living origin of all things all we have to do is ask The Lord to reveal "Himself" to us. So, YES, I believe!

Pascals wager is the most ridiculous argument forwarded by the religious. So you would believe in something simply to ward off the consequences of not believing in it? Wow, there's faith in action. I believe in myself, and the light that exists within. The light that connects me to all others. There is no single, individual God. We are all God.

Believe in yourself first, thats what God would want you to do, the rest will fall into place. Dont follow a religion, just follow yourself.

Oh F*** no, that's just ridiculous! I believe in god as much as I believe in the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny.
