The correct answer is...testoserone. It is why men are more prone to violence and anger anywhere. There's no feminist point to be made here...it's just fact. While they are more likely to be guilty of brutality, they are also ready to jump in when necessary. In my city there's a secret rule that male cops always go into a domestic disturbance first. They don't want this publicized because it's not politcally correct. When the going gets really tough, men can be better soldiers and better police officers. Sorry feminists. Just a note from Planet Reality.

I hate to be sexist but men generally have a worse temper than women. Women seem to be more in control in certain situations while SOME men (I'm not saying all so calm down guys) just lose it.
Another thing to consider might be this....are there more male police officers than women? I don't have a statistic but it seems like there are. Well if there are more men than women then male officers are more likely to be guilty of brutality than women.

One possible reason is that male officers, tending to be larger and stronger than female officers, are more capable of actually hurting someone.
For example, if 10 male cops and 10 female cops all decide to beat up the next person they pull over, more of the male cops are likely to leave evidence of a beating, not to mention that they will be more likely to actually win the fight.
Another possible reason is that a greater proportion of female officers may do jobs that don't give them a chance to brutalize people. For example, if half of all female police officers work in administration or training, they will have fewer opportunities for brutality than male officers who overwhelmingly work on patrols.

Why are criminals so stupid that they resist arrest ... or lead high-speed chases putting the public in danger?
Why do some people holler "police brutality" every time they get (rightfully) arrested?
Your assumption is pretty blatantly false. Put some blame on the criminals who merely hide behind false claims of "brutality" as a means of escaping punishment!!

How about they outnumber the Women 22 to 1
I love the police saying "Walk on the beach" It means paid leave.
Say you want to remodel your house. Go down to the black neighborhood kill a couple ***'s in "self defense" and you get 6 months of paid vacation to recover from the stress.
No offense meant to anyone with the graphic use of words that we all know is common in law enforcement.

1> men are more agressive and are usually the officers who are put in harm's way.
2> a woman would get her a s s kicked if she tried giving someone a beating
3> most female police officers act more like social workers than law enforcement officers.
4> criminals like to have people believe they are tough - they are not going to admit to getting beaten-up by a female.

Men often like to dominate and prove they are "the alpha male." Sometimes men don't think situations through and realize the reprocussions of what they do. Women are more likely to think the situation through and realize that beating on someone isn't the best route to go.

because there are more male officers than female, so yeah, the chance is higher that a cop eating a donut is more likely to be male also, but it has nothing to do with the fact that men like donuts more than women do.

they are more aggressive by nature. However, some woman want to prove themselves to a greater degree which might lead to more brutality on their end.
