Can anyone explain Interior Lines of Communication and Exterior Lines of Communication please?

First Communications are always the same in principle, but what you are refering to the extensions.

Internal would reference to those that are within your inner circle including coworkers, associates, even family and close friends. External would be those outside the circle such as leads, strangers together with aquaintances.
