Too expensive, low resale value, high cost of maintenance.

Accord, Camry, Maxima.

Love 'em. My friend's father has a V6 one (the 1999 body style) 5-speed. After car shopping with a friend, we stumbled onto a green one with everything: power w/l, sunroof, 5-spoke alloys, leather, V6 5-speed. I've seen hooked up ones by Boston University. Rims and muffler.

I'm getting one of those at some point, and will and some more vroom to it. Can't wait.

I love my TDI '05 wagon. 40-50 mpg highway, 550+ miles to a tank of fuel. 247 lbs/ft of torque @ 1800 RPM. Diesels rule.
The gas burners are a little smoother, though. In my '03 Passat it was hard to tell when I was going WAY too fast. It had an unbelievably smooth ride, especially in that price range.

I can't wait till they can start importing their diesels again in 2008. I'll be very eager to get a Passat TDI as soon as I can. As far as what brand of gasoline on yours, I just don't know. I drive only diesels nowadays. I love them. God Bless you. And good luck on your Passat. A neighbor's daughter just bought herself a 2007 model, gasoline engine, just a couple of weeks ago, and it seems she's happy with it. God Bless you.

We love our 2001.5 Passat. It has about 85,000 miles on it and we've been running 87 octane about 90% of the time and it doesnt ping, use oil, or have any other issues with the engine.

Great car if you can appreciate good engineering. Otherwise they can be quite expensive to maintain, especially with the premium fuel. Parts are very expensive and resale value is not great.
