come one you cant tell me that looks mean more than the personlity. I know that when I look for a man I dont go for looks its what is on the inside that matters.

I really think it depends on the person that is looking for someone. It is only natural for someone to see the outside first, I mean when you meet someone you see them before you say hello. It is kind of the order of things.
I think women also have to realize that we put a great deal of stress on looks, and why should we think men would do anything different. There are men out there that will like you for who you are, but being realistic about maiting rituals in general will help the situation. A mate is usually attracted by appearance in the first place, or the beauty of a birds call, or the size of a nest. Most of the initial attraction is usually physical.
But, many men have different ideals. Luckily my guy likes a thick lady :)

I agree that there's much more to a relationship than looks. The ability to carry on an intelligent conversation, a sense of humor and adventure are right up there. Having said that I do believe it's important for someone to have some level of self esteem and respect for their physical appearance. They don't have to be a model (as a matter of fact I think that's probably the other end of the spectrum). I've met plenty of very attractive women who know it and are too self involved.

I think u shood have both! One without the other is not enuf. I woodnt want a gorgeous babe with no personality and i wood nt want a great personaity with light on the looks. It gets harder the better looking u are--the higher the bar is raised--basically attractive people attract other good looking people. My sister is gorgeous and she is married to a lumpy dumpy man and people think she is a hooker when they go places--so i must say sometimes its hard for more attractive people--and people who r the complete package shood accept nothin more than perfection on all aspects from their mate. and sorry that doesnt make me shallow!
