if any of these statement are false, please post your whys' and wherefores'...
10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.
9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.
8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.
7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!
6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.
5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.
4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."
3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.
2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.
1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian

Any group has their share of hypocrites. I am a Christian but I don't fit you profile of 'all Christians' that you ignorantly sent with your question. I don't care what or how other people believe because it has all become too confusing for most people. I can't worry about your salvation, that's up to you, not me. Also, it's not up to me to 'judge' your opinions or beliefs, so I won't and I don't. But, please, do not say, ALL Christians, instead, say it correctly by saying MANY Christians, then I would not have any problem with your statements because yes, they are true in some instances, just not ALL instances. And by the way, MANY atheists also fit your profile. Thanks!

A true Christian is not hypocrital. Everyone is free to chose their own religion and simply disagreeing with something from your religion is not hypocritic. Going to church on Sun..then going bar hopping on Monday...is hypocrital. Real Christians care about everyone, athiests and all. Just because they do not agree is not reason for them to be labeled a hypocrit. Thats what belief is, you place your faith in a religion.
And also, to the dinosaur comment. Humans are humans..they err. Can you look at a mound of dirt and tell how old it is? If you believe in the Bible then you believe in the flood. A flood that covered the earth would have caused massive mounds of dirt layers upon layers. It also would have caused fossils by animals trapped within. Christians believe in dinosaurs as well. But no matter how smart you think we are, humans err.

Not all Christians are hypocritical but George Bush and his followers - born-again Christians - have got to be the most hypocritical Christians known to man. They give hypocrisy a new meaning! And there's no doubt that in the past Christianity has been marred by hypocritical acts - but these have been the acts of men misusing religion.
To clear some things up:
I believe that Christianity and Science can mix but religion should stay out of science. Not all Christians believe that non-Christians will go to hell. Trinity is not the belief in three God, it is the contemplation of three complex aspects of one God (mind, heart, soul). No Christian should have the right to condemn other established religions.

Yes - I am a christian hypocrite. I am a person of faith but I am selfish on many occasions. It will appear to most folks I am indeed a hypocrite. But it sure beats living a lie that I have to be perfect all the time or that I have all the answers. I never will. I guess I will just have to live by faith and see what happens after I die.

Look at God, not at people. People, Christians, make mistakes as does everyone. That is why we look at Jesus and not at his followers. They are sincere, but sin as does everyone, and imperfect in their actions and words, even though their core beliefs are true. They also do many great things in his name - why not look at and acknowledge that?
Everyone, at some point, is a hypocrite - we are not perfect - no one is.
There can only be one truth... that is why Christians are so passionate because they CARE about you, and know that God does too.
I have never had a prayer fail - it may not be what I would want. or in the time I want, but what is better for me in God's perfect will and timing - always perfect when I look back at how he answered it. Where did you get a statistic like that (0.01%).? Would you name or substatiate your source? (of course it is not possible - but find someone who has had an answered prayer, it will be easy to do, and see if they are grateful). My answered prayer rate is 100%.
That is why we are in need of a Savior - we are beggars looking for bread - all of us. God is perfect, not us. We are his creation who have fallen by choice. Sinners in need of a Savior.

I find it funny that you have spent this much time thinking about all of this and taking the time to place it on here. I think you are obsessed with Christians. Why else would you devote so much metal effort towards running down the faith of another. I always think that it is funny how some people will do nothing but run down what someone else believes and when asked :"well what is it that you believe in?" they try to defend it vehemently. I don't ever feel that I need to defend or worry what others think about my personal beliefs or spirituality. Is it that you are feeling empty inside or are searching for something? Maybe you are not a very positive person. I don't know you so it is hard to say. I always say that we need to work on our own inner selves before we look to others. Everyone on this earth has their own spirituality and feelings. I think that it is a waste of time worrying about what others might do or think or feel or say.

" but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!"
All im responding to is the fact that Pharaoh killed the babies not God. And God can kill anyone He wants. All religions would agree with that.
Many Brahimins feel that there is only one God and all the others are just aspects of this one.

Interesting to notice that the 4 people who disagreed with you were unable to refute any single statement in your list.
That being said, please note that your #1 proof is in fact not proof of hypocrisy at all. A Christian ignorant of much of what makes up Christianity is no less a Christian due to ignorance. I probably don't know as much about atheism as many Christians, but that doesn't mean I'm not an atheist.

This "question" has been asked dozens of times here already. The "question" contains many outright lies and gross distortions about the bible and true Christianity. Here are a few Scriptural thoughts to consider:
(Romans 16:17) Keep your eye on those who cause divisions and occasions for stumbling contrary to the teaching that you have learned, and avoid them.
(2 Corinthians 4:4-6) The god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers
(Philippians 2:14-15) In among a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you are shining as illuminators in the world
(1 Timothy 6:3-5) If any man teaches other doctrine and does not assent to healthful words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, nor to the teaching that accords with godly devotion, he is puffed up with pride, not understanding anything, but being mentally diseased over questionings and debates about words. From these things spring envy, strife, abusive speeches, wicked suspicions, violent disputes about trifles on the part of men corrupted in mind and despoiled of the truth

Wow. I am an Atheist, and I just want to be left alone. Many Christians are the same. I am sorry you all feel the need to argue all the time. Do you think maybe we could all work together as HUMAN BEINGS to better the world on topics that are important to ALL of us? I thought part of being human was to have a little compassion and acceptance..........
