"The FOOL has said in his heart, 'There is no God...'" Psalm 14:1
I think it takes more "faith" to believe we came out of nothing than to say that we are created in the image and likeness of a loving God!

I think that the truth is actually somewhere in the middle. And I see a lot of similarities, oddly, in what I hear from both sides.

Christians say "How can you believe we came out of nothing? That's silly!" and then they say "There's a big, all powerful man in the sky and he made us out of nothing to look just like himself."

Athiests say "How can you believe this fairy tale, given to you in a book written by who knows who" and then they say "read this great book about giant dinosaurs that roamed the earth long ago - this must be the truth"

The bottom line is that religion is just that - a story. A guide. An idea. Religion is not the creative force in the Universe - Religion is a way to explain the world and our existence in a way that pleases the reader. In a way that provides peace and comfort in times of trouble.

Let's make everyday Unity day, and be glad that people can find their own way and that we each have the freedom to find our own way.

Peace!

Only a fool would base their life decisions on a book written 2000 years ago by multiple authors, subjected to multiple translations and multiple rewrites. You clearly don't know much about atheism, because I don't know of anyone who has ever suggested that we came here out of nothing. And the exact same argument can be used for you. If God created everything, then who created God? If your answer to that questions is that he/she/it created itself, then you're saying that God created itself out of nothing. Religious folk are so silly. They talk about a loving God, while spreading hate. If God is so loving, why is the vast majority of the world's populations either starving, near starvation, poor, malnourished, uneducated, and living off of less than a dollar a day? God sure is selective in His/Hers/Its love. Anyone who thinks that God is an entity that is separate from themselves is a true fool. So maybe religion should be celebrated on April Fools Day, so we can all laugh at the backwardness of their beliefs. Remember, don't believe everything you think.

How about making it National Christians Day? Here are some Psalms to support the idea:

-The earth shakes whenever God really gets mad. 18:7
-The sun moves around the earth. 19:4-6
-According to the psalmist, snails melt. But they don't, of course, they simply leave a slimy trail as they move along. 58:8
-God holds the earth up with pillars. 75:3
-"The world also is established, that it cannot be moved." 93:1
-"The world also shall be established that it shall not be moved." 96:10
-"The Lord ... who healeth all thy diseases." God heals all diseases. Medical science is unnecessary. 103:2-3
-God is in hell. 139:8

-The God of peace teaches us how to kill our neighbors in war. 18:34
-The psalmist sets an example for Christians by hating people but loving God. 31:6
-"Consume them in thy wrath, consume them." -- more sweet prayers to a savage god. 59:13
-The psalmist asks God to pour out his wrath on somebody else for a change. Why not torment some strangers "that have not known thee?" 79:5-6
-God is praised for the creative ways that he kills people: drowning, earth-swallowing, burning, etc. 106:11-19
-God is offended by those who make things with their hands or invent things with their minds. 106:39
-The psalmist excels at hating. He hates people with a "perfect hatred" and asks God to kill them. 139:19-22
-A prayer that God will burn people to death. 140:10
-The God of Peace teaches us to kill each other in war. 144:1

while every religion thinks the same of there own religion, there are too many of the other religions to switch April Fools Day to National Atheists day, I consider myself Agonistic, but I do not think there will ever be a "day" for Atheists or any of the kind. that I know of. Sorry!
