I DO nurse in public. This is my fourth child. I nursed the first till 3 months (i was 17) the 2nd till 5 months (went backto school was 18) The 3rd till 7 months (i was 20) and I am still nursing my latest at almost 7 months. I am going to try to stick out out till at least 9 months. I really have no choice with her lol. She iwll not touch a bottle. I have been trying to get her to practice with it so that she knows how to use it but she knows what she wants!

I do not have a problem with a woman that feeds her baby through a bottle therefor i do not se why anyone should care why i feed through my breat. I do not ask you to take your bottle fed baby tothe bathroom therefore i will not take mine either! Alls that matters is we are takin care of our babies in the way we can the best!

I have never understood why some people are so for breastfeeding or so against it! Breast or bottle? It's up to the mother and father. Mostly mother, but it is whatever you feel is best for your baby. The key is it's YOUR baby. As we know all babies are different. I have three daughters. Each birth I said I will breast feed if I'm able for as long as I am able. Some people have no interest in breastfeeding or are not able. It's okay! That's why there is formula and bottles!

Breast or bottle really just boils down to personal choice. There are benefits to both. The main benefit of formula is convenience. One of the main benefits of breastfeeding is that it helps to build your childs immune system, and studies have shown that breast babies tend to have less allergies than bottle babies. There have also been studies that suggest that breast fed babies do better academically later, though how much better,I am not exactly sure. Since breast pumps have been introduced, it's much more convenient to breast feed now than it has in past generations, but still you have to pump regularly in order to continue to produce the maximal amount of milk. The other benefit is that it cost less than buying formula. There is one downfall, and does not apply to all. A good number of women have difficulty breastfeeding (flat nipples, inability to latch, etc...), so it takes a real concentrated, committed effort for some.

i was a mom of 1 at 25 and breast feeding was Very important to me. I nursed my son until he was 2 weeks from his 1st birthday and i had stopped due 2 his bitting. I pumped enough that he is still drinking breast milk at 14months and had enough i donated some to a milk bank for less fortunate baby's who's moms couldn't give the gift of milk. I like you Breast feed in public and felt god gave women breast that make milk to feed baby's NOT GROWN MEN. I never gave him a bottle but did introduce a sippy cup at about 7 months.

I personally think that breast feeding is best for the baby. I have heard that there are a lot of positives to breast feeding. When my hubby and I have our 1st, I will definitely breast feed if I am able!
I have 3 nephews that were not breast fed at all. They all get really sick at the drop of a hat. I don't know if it is b/c they weren't breast fed and didn't get the mom's immunities or not. I definitely think that it could be part of the problem.
Breast feeding is natural....how could it be wrong?

Breast feeding is how all mothers should feed their children regardless. My mom did not but I wished she had. There are alot of good benifits from breast feeding. If the child does not to well on the breast. Use a pump and put it in a bottle instead. Breast is best. :)

That's great! I'm breastfeeding until he's on solid food and doesn't want a bottle anymore. (or a year, whichever is first). It could be the bottle that the baby doesn't like. My son HATES and will not take Avent bottles, he only likes Ventaire bottles. And I tried Avent first... some babys have standards I guess! :o)

I think that it is wonderful that you are breastfeeding. I am still nursing my 11 month old and plan to nurse her until she decides to wean - - the World Health Organization recommends continued breastfeeding until baby is two years old and beyond. I'll be going as long as she desires, and i think every day that a baby is breastfed is a day extra of wondeful nourishment and health.

Breastfeeding is absolutely one of the best things you can do for your baby. Your child will be more intelligent and healthier. Continue to breastfeed as long as you can for the maximum benefit. It's your right as a mother to breastfeed your infant. If anyone has a problem with that, you need to ignore them and know that you are doing the right thing for yourself and your baby.

I expressed milk for my son as he was in scbu (born at 28.5 weeks) - and was continually being told how great it is for babies to have breast milk.
Sometimes there is a little pressure for mothers to breast feed, but ultimatley its your choice. I would love to breast feed my next child - means its dad doesnt have to do anything in the middle of the night!!
I think its wonderful - and your doing the best for your child and you - as it helps reduce risk of breast cancer, helps you loose weight and keep your boobs from sagging!!!

Good for you girl! You are a true mother that is doing the best for her child instead of giving her inferior nutrition (formula). You rock! The hell with all these dumb comments from people who have a mommy complex. They were probably not breastfed, hence the dumb comments.
