Hey Guys

I too was sick and tired with this error message :unexpected quantifier" and " $handlerresized "? i received when I logged in on yahoo messenger and I tried to send message to my online friends with no success all the messages sent and received were blank. i tired all the soultion posted on the different forum who gave their suggestion to uninstall and reinstalled yahoo. I must have done it 10 time plus, to the point if u are using Window 98 and Internet explorer 5.00 version u will receive this error after installing the beta yahoo or the latest version of yahoo. The reason u get this error is due to ur Internet explorer browser is not updated u will need to install the latest version of Internet explorer version 6 or latest version. I downloaded this and all was good and Yahoo was working back again Cheers, hope this solution can help u all

link from where u can download Internet explorer version 6 is mentioned below

I'm getting similar if not the same problems...
I have looked in the file they say has an error and the only thing I can work out is that "BASE HREF = "c:\\"
The reason this makes me think this is the problem is that on the machine with the problem I don't have a C drive! My system is set up to run on F with no C drive.

I'll keep looking for a solution but if this helps let me know and I'll try to update you if I find a solution.

Lets look at the options available to fix the issue
1. clear Internet Cache
2. Upgrade to IE6.0 SP1
3. create a new profile to use yahoo.

Clear Internet Cache:
Internet options > general tab > settings > view objects > delete all the objects.
Security tab > select default level for all the 4 zones
Advanced > restore defaults , apply, OK.
reboot the Computer.

I'm sorry I must laugh...lol! Why in the world would something like this be highly urgent although I think back and remember when my messenger crashing in the middle of a important convo. Sorry don't take my laughing personally. I have no idea what you should do e-mail the yahoo tech support.

Check you connection speed first for Yahoo Calls you need minimum 128kbps line Remember making Landline or outside calls thru Yahoo Messenger is not free If you make calls outside yahoo members, you need to buy some calling credit

you can try installing Y! messenger 7.5 (product release and no beta). you can locate it on messenger.yahoo.com close to text: " Not ready for the Beta? Get version 7.5". this should help. thanks,
