I have always loved cats - I have six now, and although that is too many for in the house, I will always want at least one cat with me.
I tried taking in a stray dog last summer and the care needs of the dog, even though he was outside, made it so much harder. Morning and evening feeds, much more water and he needed as much attention as all the cats put together. The few times I went anywhere, I had to have someone at the house every day - with the cats, I can leave enough food, water and liter and can be gone for days. I really liked the dog, but life is much easier now that he has passed on.

I don't care what people say, Cats are so cool! I got 3 of my own and I can go on vacation for a week and they are just fine at home, they use the litter box, cover their poop, and most importantly they all have an individual personality, they are not beggers like Dogs.
I hate dogs, they stink YOU have to clean up their s**t they chew on everything, and you cannot go anywhere because the stinky dog cannot take care of itself. They are all stupid and their overall maintainance is more expensive than that of a beautiful cat.

Cats even though I own two cats and a dog. I can hold my cat. They are soft. Where as my dog is as big as a donkey but thinks he's small enough to lay in your lap. I can pet him because he just feels rough. I prefer cats.

I like cats the best because they don't need to go outside in the middle of the night when its 2 degrees out, I don't wanna pick up poop in my yard or step on it, I hate when dogs slobber, dogs are a little to hyper, cats won't jump on you and get you muddy, cats don't pee when they are excited and cats are much more self reliant but lovable as well!

Depends what you're looking for out of a pet. Cat's are defitely low maintenance but dogs you can do so much more with. Each animal has their own individual personality too so there's no one right answer. Get both!

Dogs, because they interact with you more. Sure they need more care, but they give back soooo much more than a cat I think. Cats give you attetnion if they feel like it. Dogs are just always there for you.

By far my answer is Cats, they are just better. No walking and NO barking and waking up neighbors, no huge pile of turds to clean up, and cats belive it or not are smarter than dogs.

Dogs, I have two of them. They are very loving, friendly, playful, and protectful. Cats like to roll over and bite you when you pet their belly.

I like cats.. .because they are not submissive...
you can yell at a dog.. that damn thing will tuck his tell and wander off...
where as a cat, you can yell all you want, they are not going to listen to you.. they have there own ora and presence about themselves... I love cats... they ooze individuality.
