Look on any street and see - men always push using only one hand. Is it because they are trying to look macho or cool, or because they have better control of wheeled things than women?

I can't speak for others, but i find that stroller handles are set low. trying to use 2 hands on them causes you to extend your arms out and down. That causes my shoulders to roll forward which I find uncomfortable. its easier and more comfortable to push with one hand, arm. in difficult situation like crossing a street i use 2 for safety and control over bumps.

It's a 'coolness' thing. Look at the way men drive cars - always with one hand on the wheel just to prove how multi skilled we are - think of the numerous other things we could be doing with the other hand!!

I have TOTALLY noticed that too!!!! LMAO!!! I'm pretty sure they do that because pushing a stroller has always been perceived as a "woman's job/duty" and by pushing with only one hand, the man is trying to distance himself as much as possible from this activity.

You might have noticed the same as men push grocery carts. There's no way to look "butch" while pushing a stroller/cart with two hands.

I think there are some definate 'male' reasons that have been learned....ever watch a man carry his wife's purse to her? LOL! But also, wondering if the width of men's shoulders might just make it more comfortable. Not only that, they're usually taller. Maybe using one hand allows them to remain upright.

Lol. It looks cooler, we can scratch, and we've got better control of things with wheels.
Might date back to the prehistoric times too, always keep a hand free in case of predators.....?

i think its more to do with the height of the stroller bar and the mans strenght and ability to push and control it with just one hand ...I sometimes try this because I'm really tall and i have to slump over it I use both hands but my arm muscles tirer quick and I can't control it very well so I slump back over...

i did that but its because i'm so tall to push with 2 hand meant walking behind the buggy and i kept kicking the damn thing so... move to the side 1 handed da da

Maybe they think that they are driving a car because most men only drive with one hand. Thank you for your question.
