Today I went to Walmart to grocery shop and I pulled into a space and got out and there were the cutest little schnauzers in the car next to me. They seems ok- happy and barking so I thought- their owner just ran in for a second! I came out 2 hrs later and those poor little dogs were STILL in the car- but no longer bouncing and happy! No window open- no water- they were just kinda laying on the seat-tongues out and looking up at me like they were saying HELP. Well I have 2 Poms and just before I left home- I told them no they couldnt go it was too hot!!! I marched right back into walmart and had them page the owner by the liscense plate- and kind of car. Here comes this prissy lady and I just totally let lose on her! I cannot believe anyone would leave their dogs in a HOT car no window down for 2 hours! By the way it is 104 today. That means in the car atleast 125 those dogs could have died. I told her I was going to report her to SPCA should i??????

I am so tired of animals being mistreated by uncaring people....
those poor little animals dont have anyone to help them since they can not speak for themselves.......if people were held more accountable for their care of animals this world would be a better place.....
I applaud your actions to this woman....thank God for people like you who would take the time to speak out against this kind of behaviour....

I'm a dog owner myself, and even I hate it when I leave my dogs outside in the shade 95 degree heat. It's been hovering around 100 the last 2 weeks here S. California.
Leaving dogs inside a car in that kind of heat is nothing short of abuse. Personally, I wouldn't go as far as reporting her to the SPCA. Letting her know by getting Walmart to call her up is enough. Hopefully she learns her lesson.

you should have taken a picture of the dogs in the car. That would have helped alot. Yes you should report her. Call the local police department and see if there is anything that can be done. That is so cruel, and people don't even think about it. Those poor dogs.

You should have called the animal control officer or the cops. And you should have made the loudest fuss possible so everyone around would come running over to see what an idiot that woman was. And she should NEVER own dogs again.
She's lucky it wasn't me who found them. I would have broken out the window to her car and removed those dogs promptly. And after risking my life to save those animals, I would have made a citizen's arrest right on the spot for animal cruelty.

You absolutely should! She could (and should!) get in a lot of trouble for that. I know someone who left her dog in the car for like 15 minutes on a day when it was only 75 out and she had to go to court and pay huge fines.

Yea 2 hours in that heat with now windows is just a tad too long. If she acted like it was ok and you were the one that was nuts when you talked to her I would probably report her too. Some people shouldn't own animals..

GOOD FOR YOU....THATS GREAT...I HAVE A DOG, BUT I WOULD NEVER LEAVE HER IN A CAR FOR 2 HOURS. I AM TYPING IN CAPS, BECAUSE I AM MAD AT HOW STUPID THAT LADY WAS. YESSS...REPORT HER...DEFINITLY YESS. HAVE BETTY WHITE GO OPEN A CAN OF WHIP-*** ON THAT B WITH AN ITCH LADY!!!!! OK, down to regular type...I am so happy that you took Action and went back into the store. All dogs are at this moment, wagging their tails at you.

I would. That is completely abusive. She doesn't care much about her dogs.
I have to commend you on going back and paging the owner and reading her the riot act. I would have done the same thing. I'm glad there are people like you who give a damn about dogs.

Congratulations for you. I wouldn't exactly report her, but maybe point out that she needs some education. I don't know if you have her address or something, but you could have them send her some info.
But I hate to see poor dogs with bad owners, so I'd probably do SOMETHING. They could get better homes, but they could get worse.

i have two outside dogs its 95 to 100 degrees here and i worry about them outside!..i dont see how they could have left those dogs in there for so long, maybe someone should lock her inside the hott car for a couple of hours

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!! Teach her a lesson to care more about herself then the animals she obtains. Thats total bull crap if I do say so myself. I have a Min Pin and I would NEVER leave him in a hot car. Oh man that gets me sick. I say report her asap.
