Yes, for the sheer joy and freedom of flying, if nothing else. Depending on how far you advance in your skills, there is good money to be made as a pilot. How often can a man make a good living enjoying his hobby? For the guy who spoke of increasing your chances of dying, every hour spent flying instead of driving a car greatly increases your chances of living. A car is undoubtedly the most dangerous, common machine ever built.

Sure if you don't mind flying all the time and being away from home a lot. Oh, and also increasing your chances of dying in a terrifying plane crash.
