Intelligence questions things. Religion is intolerant of questioning. Just read about all of the books the Catholic Church has banned. Anything that questions their authority or their mindset is heretical and of the devil. Like that heresy about the Earth being round or that it isn't the center of the universe. Religion is for people who don't want to think. Spirituality is for those who do.

Not at all. Some of the most spiritual people I have known have not been very intelligent. All you have to do is have faith and believe and understand that all facets of life can have spirituality applied. The more inteliigent you are the harder I think it is to believe without asking questions about whether there is a God. The stories in the Bible have many holes in them, as long as they are intelligent enough to understand the moral lessons they are smart enough to be spiritual.

Ouros,
I think the answer is yes, with modifications. Intelligence is a relative thing. It comes in a variety of strengths and flavors. I think, according to the scriptures, you can have too much, or at least try to rely on it too much. We are told that unless we become like little children, we shall not enter the Kingdom. I believe that you cannot enter the Kingdom on your own effort, at least not intellectual effort. It is more a matter of surrender, and trust. The vast difference between the mind of God, and the mind of man, makes even the most powerful human intellect, seem like a dim bulb in comparison. The only thing that can bridge the gap, is the presence of His Spirit in your heart.

Define intelligence.
I think on some level you have to be intelligent to connect with spirituality. But, on the other hand, we are all made by God and so forth, and how's that to say we are not spiritual...atleast on an unconcious level. Just not all are able to connect with that.
I mean, look at Bush. Because he's made by God, he's spiritual on some level. But he obviously hasn't connected with that b/c he's playing puppet in killing off the Middle East.
So...that's my theory.

Intelligence is a very relative term. It involves understanding, not IQ score. To be spiritual involves understanding spiritual issues. It is difficult to say what level of understanding is needed in order to be spiritual because man grades himself on intelligence. God sees us as all equals and he imparts wisdom to those who ask for it. Intelligence, such as an IQ score, demands physical expression in order for it to be evaluated. God does not. Religion demands outward expression, which is why religious people are viewed as intelligent. God searches the heart (soul) to inspect for spirituality. I have been around people who were mildly to moderately retarded, who could read little and not write at all, but they had a very spiritual nature about them and seemed to be able to grasp basic Bible principles quite well. I have been around geniuses who acted like fools. A solid spiritual nature is much preferred over a lot of book learning because it is your soul that will enter into heaven and not all of the garbage that has filled your brain. Disregard the idea that knowledge and education will save you from the fires of hell---they will not. Only the blood of Jesus saves, and his grace is free and for the asking at anytime without anyone's permission. Jesus loves you and he wants to fellowship with you. Invite him into your heart and you will know what being spiritual is all about.

What intelligence,if it is Allah's gift, produce children from four wives to become the greatest religion of this earth.Count their nos. they are giving in answers, and claim on conversions.Soul they do not recognise.MATERIALS THINGS THEY COUNT IN PLENTY. Care for Quran only and not for spiritual things.
Their spirits are however very high when Jehadis increase their count of infidels being reduced .The nos.of Islamists automatically increase and two hurrahs for them. They are showing various sites for this check them.
Indeed the difference between the religion and for being spiritual is not written in their books so dear God excuse them please.THE MORE DULL YOU ARE MORE SPIRITUAL YOU ARE. Have you ever seen supernatural things errrrrr movies. The spirit is separate from the body and must have heard of adjective also.
First two parts of my answer deal with the truth and reality. The third para deals with spirituality,it is really the grace of God or your salvation because of your deeds on this earth and not your intelligence or genious-ness,which is going to lead you.,after your death.

What do you mean by "spiritual"? To believe in God........no, you do not need intelligence. You need faith. Intelligence has nothing to do with being spiritual.

Yes. God is intelligence. For intelligence cleaveth unto intelligence; wisdom receiveth wisdom; truth embraceth truth; virtue loveth virtue; light cleaveth unto light; mercy hath compassion on mercy and claimeth her own; justice continueth its course and claimeth its own; judgment goeth before the face of him who sitteth upon the throne and governeth and executeth all things.
Whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection. And if a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come.
There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated--
And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated. The Father has a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us. A man may receive the Holy Ghost, and it may descend upon him and not tarry with him.
