I blame the school system. They don't worry too much about spelling anymore. Are you from America or some other country? I just wonder because although, most people from America know very well that they are lazy, they usually don't put it so frankly.

39% are just too lazy to spell or use the 'Check Spelling' button
45% are just plain stupid, and can't spell or even figure out how to use the spell check, and don't know how to use 'their', 'they're', or 'there' correctly...

i wonder how quickly some people are trying to get their answers up there, it takes a little time for spell check. i agree with you however, i don't even try to read question or answers if the spelling is bad in the first two sentences

Seems to me people spend more time studying math and science, thinking punctuation, grammar, and spelling are basic skills. Many don't even realize when they use words in the wrong context or whatever. People who can correctly edit text are rare...

I can't spell because I never learned phonetics. Which means I can say the word but I can't translate how you say it into how you spell it.I guess that means I'm just dumb.
