I know of some girls who have asked the guy, but seriously...what would we do...give you a ring to wear while we go with a bare hand. Wouldn't that look a little funny? Just a thought. Besides, it is tradition, for whatever that may mean to you. What's a matter, do you want a pretty diamond ring??

sometimes men can be so stupid and act like a fool. the reason y women don't like to purpose is because when they do either the guy say no they feel offended, and the Guy usually bring it up every time they are having a fight. they could say something like that. i never wanted to marry u remember u were the one to ask me to and blah blah. u know unlike us women when a guy propose we feel like a queen and cherish every moment of it.

in the past the male has taken controll of the relationship.... and it has just stuck. Plus, a guy is asking a girl to take on his name, kinda an honarary thing, while it would seem pushy for a girl to ask if she could take a guys name.
