I feel satisfied with my life when I am of service to those who are in need. I believe God puts us in the path of those who need our help, and if we have the means to help them then we are obliged to do so. "Unto the least of men,you do unto Me." Am I ashamed of the blessings and abundant life God has given me? No, I'm thankful everyday.

Not really. That is why I send money to an organization called:
Lifeline of Hope.
They help orphanages become self sufficient. They started with Russian Orphanages, but now are in many different countries. I have met the founders. The do really good work. They have a website. Please check it out.
$10 a month supports one Russian Orphan for a whole Month. That is less than most people spend on Starbucks for a week. At least check out their site to learn more about it. Maybe tell a friend? Even just a one time donation of $5 helps.

l don't have an extravagant life but I do not feel people who have worked hard for what they have need to feel guilty or explain to others what they have acquired in life by hard work. A lot of people who have large sums of money donate a lot. Would you prefer that everyone not work hard in school and work just to exist? I respect people who have set goals and enjoy the benefits of doing so. Sorry if this is not what you are wanting to hear.

I don't have an extravagant life. I live simple. I buy things I need instead of things I desire and although I enjoy a beautiful home, I do all the work myself. I also donate as often as I can and teach for a living, so I am definitely not in it for the money. I teach my children to be frugal and practical. I feel badly for those who suffer poverty, but my parents were war children in Eastern Europe in WWII and they escaped. I have taught ESL to African children first coming to America as well as Puerto Rican, Mexican, middle Eastern, Vietnamese and a few Eastern Europeans. They work harder than our American Children and are so happy to be a part of our lifestyle since they were part of much pain prior to their arrival.

Since I do not live an extravagant life, no. AND, addressing the people on HERE, is not going to solve the problem. Go get Mr. Bono and his rich, rock star buddies, to take care of the problem.

Absolutely! I have worked hard in my life to achieve what I have. It is sad that there are people who are less fortunate, but in the United States there is ample opportunity to make something of your life. This idea that people are poor because they have to be is ludicrous. Go to school, learn a skill, then work hard to obtain your desires. There are plenty of assistance programs in this country for people who lack means, all you have to do is take advantage of them. As to poor people in other countries, while again I feel sad for them, it is not my fault that they were born into poverty, and it is not my responsibility to save the world.

i feel bad that others are suffering yes. Do i give back to the community and groups? yes. Do i always want to do more? yes. However........... i also work for a living and i do it hard and i have succeded because of that. Sometimes people need to learn to work harder and not give up so easy so i am watchfull and picky when it comes to helping. i help those who are trying to get back on thier feet and just need a bit of good luck.

I dont live an extravagant life. I give freely to charities of my choice, and give even more of my time to volunteer activities to make others' lives better.
