Put lemon in it.
Make it either really cold, or room temperature, whatever's easier to drink. Chug it by the glass, every hour on the hour. Make it a habit!

Try putting some fresh lemon juice in the water. FRESH - not the stuff that comes in the little plastic squeeze bottle. It helps to kill any odd tastes that may be there and gives the water a smoother feel.
Or, you could also use some sugar-free Crystal Lite kind of powder to make the water taste really good. It's not a good idea to take in too much artificial sweetener, but adding it to a few glasses per day shouldn't be a problem.

I'm not a big fan of drinking water myself so I drink Gatorade or other non sugar sports drinks. When I drink water, I drink distilled water, the city I live in tends to get a little carried away with the icky tasting chlorine. The rule of thumb is to drink half your weight in ounces of water. I weigh 120 lbs so I need to drink at least 60 ounces of water a day, more if I work out.

I also hate drinking water. Pepsi is so much more tasty isn't it?
What I've been able to do to help me drink water is to only drink it with lots of ice. It dilutes that nasty faucet taste and the ice feels good on your throat and tongue.
I also like to add a lemon wedge for the fresh flavoring. It's easy and costs little.
I feel better now that I'm able to drink more water and I think my skin looks fresher too.
Hope this helps you get that h2o where it does the most good.

Condition youself to drink the water. A glass before every meal AND a glass after every meal.
I find that adding lemon juice or lime juice, just enough to impart a light flavor, makes the drinking of water go down easier.

drinking water can be tough for some people. Those people say that the water tastes funny or isnt safe. The good thing is that if it comes out a faucet in the US its safe so you have nothing to be afraid of from the water.
Water that is too cold can irritate your throat but if its too hot then it can burn. I prefer room temperature water but its really up to you
Grocery stores sell flavored water or lemonade powder that you can mix in to make water sweet but dont rely on this exclusively because drinking too much gatorade and lemonade can screw up your teeth.
an aquaintance of mine is allergic to one of the minerals in the tap water so she drinks distilled ( pure h2o) water. Personally i cant drink too much distilled water because it has no taste.
Ultimately not drinking water can really hurt you in the long run. a doctor once told me that dehydration causes headaches, dry peeling skin, urinary problems and internal infections.
so drink water, even if it hurts
good luck

just drink a glass in the morning really fast....get it over with. Then in the afternoon carry a bottle of water around with you. You'll be surprised how often you find yourself sipping a bit even though you hate it. You can try carrying crystal light packets too they're pre-measured for bottles of water. Straight water is better though.
when you are in restraunts order water instead of soda. Its free and you'll drink it better in a meal then trying to drink it by itself. Have a glass with your meals.

add a splash of juice to it. try spring water. if live in city, use Brita water filter. Force yourself to drink 6- 8 glasses a day for a week or so. After that your body will feel so much better, you won't hate the water anymore.

Mix it with Crstal Light. There are many flavors and they come in individual packets now that can go in your bottled water. I did this when I was pregnant since I hate water. It made it much better. I think Wal-Mart has an off brand that is cheaper too.

Add lemon to your water. Not only does this taste better, but it also helps clean out your colon. Other than that, you just have to get used to drinking water.
