Freedom of religion does not include freedom from ridicule. If by the fruit of your labors I can judge your beliefs, then clearly far too many people have suffered and remain suffering in the bloody whirlwind of theistic tyranny and persecution.

Let me ask you this - Considering religion's history of charity, has it earned respect and secular value?

It all depends on your perspective. There is much in the history of religion of which religion should rightly be embarrassed. We still see today the *horrible* things that are done in its name. However, we also see the charitable, generous, and culturally valuble things (like art and music and so on) that are done in the name of religion, and that counts for something, too.

I suppose, in the end, religion is just like anything else - neither inherently good nor inherently evil. It all depends on what it is used for and why.

most of the non secular wars in historic previous were fought with the help of fringe communities that were condemned with the help of their orthodox church. particular the Crusades were an exception, yet as they say, "The exception proves the rule of thumb". Do you truthfully believe that maximum dedicate non secular people condone violence in the call of God? for sure not! God would not want people to make conflict for Him. also, do you've faith that faith is the real reason behind most of the violence in the international? Or isn't it extra in all probability conflicts international huge are brought about with the help of an elementary lack of elements or wanted land? I agree that the beliefs of someone who's willingly to kill should be examined and perchance respected in a minor way, yet do not affiliate the beliefs of an intensive crew with the beliefs of a non violent one. you should understand the beliefs of anybody who believes that peace is ideally to conflict and that doing good is extra valuable than doing evil. So now the real question you should ask your self is: "How am i able to be extra valuable than the folk who disrespect others if I disrespect others myself? How am i able to anticipate people to appreciate me if i do not attempt to appreciate them?" wish that permits

Religion is made up of people, need I say more. Belief has very little to do with it. I'd say people have gotten religion mixed up with nationality & race, more then the actual belief.

I think religion needs to be thought of as myths and superstitions people used to need to explain things before science evolved. It is ridiculous to kill people or deny them their rights over myths and superstitions.

Religion is evil. Most christians believe that. We are less into religion and more into a faith relationship with Jesus Christ.
