omg - i hate that book because I didn't understand it that well, but it has a really good meaning if you know what it means... I had to read it last year and I had to look up cliff notes on it to see what all of I meant. It's like after I took the test, I finally understood those last chapters!
Here are websites that helped me to understand it chapter by chapter:
http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/mocking/ - #1 resource
http://www.cliffsnotes.com/WileyCDA/LitNote/id-143.html - #2 resource
I hope this helps you out. Good luck with understanding it. :)
I'm into creative writing and reading if I'm interested in it. The To Kill a Mockingbird book was really not that interesting unless you're into analogies with racism and poverty. I guess it can be interesting if a person interested in that type of stuff is reading it.
Wow - me and Lacey came up with the same websites. I guess we both don't like things we're forced to read. This summer, I'm forced to read A Separate Peace which is a drag.
FYI: The dog symbolizes racism of the town. That's hard to pick up.

I loved that book, and it is probably in my top 10. It does seem a little boring in the begining and the plot isn't full of action and excitement. By the end of the book, you will come to really appreciate it. You could also try watching the movie. The movie isn't as good as the book, but it is definitely worth watching.

It might seem a little boring in the beginning, and yes, it would definitely be more interesting towards the end of the book, but you need to read the first few chapters to know what is going on before you go on deeper into the book (in case you are thinking of skipping chapters.)
Yes, I like the book. I cried though.

I don't remember the beginning, so I don't remember if it was hard to get into. But I wanted to tell you to hang in there because it's a great book. It was assigned in my 11th grade American Lit class, and it was the first assigned book that I ever enjoyed reading. My sister read it 2 years ago for her 11th grade english class too, and she loved it as much as I did. Don't give up!

You'll love it once you get started. It's all about how a young girl in a small town sees how the legal system and the society around her deal with people who are "different." Scout's a great kid, and the relationship between her and her father is the core of the story. I hope that doesn't give too much away.

I really didn't like the book, but I usually don't like any book that I'm forced to read.

If you don't understand parts of the book or if it's too boring to read, you should look at these sites. I passed English class because of these sites.
