My wife and I have been worship leaders in our church for a little over a year now and have been challenged by our Pastor to take our church to the next level in worship. I've been the number 2 man my whole life and am struggling with finding new, fun, and interesting music to do. What's worse, I don't know what is considered "in" right now and need some help. Anyone who is a Worship Leader or Christian leader please throw me a bone. I thought I was doing things the way they were supposed to and agree now that we need to Passionately move forward, but I dunno how to do that.
Not only music, but book recommendations as well would help. Lendale Cooley (sp?) I know has a book my pastor has suggested.
Thanks everyone for answering!!
Oh, I'm 23 and my wife 22. So we're supposed to be the Young Energetic Types...

Hey guys, thanks so much for responses. I'm going to let this one be settled by vote. I just can't decide who deserves it more. Thanks for your support and encouragement!

Hi there! :)
Wow- I am really excited for you guys. I can tell by your email that your really good, spirit filled people. And I pray that God would really increase your ministry and take you that "new level."
I lead worship as well. A couple c.d.s that have cutting edge and fun music are:
1.) Passion Worship Band - ALL OF THEIR C.D.S ARE AWESOME! They consist of leads like David Crowder, Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, etc.
2.) HILLSONGS- My personall favorite! Their always pumping out GREAT music...easy to lead with too.
Um for the more softer but yet "new" are...
1.) Jason Upton (Prophetic Music)
2.) Sean McDonald
Umm for chords go to:
PWARCHIVE.COM
They always have a list of 50 or 100 "TOP" songs out...so look at that!
Blessings to you guys!

I can't offer any site but I am sure Hastings has some of the more "hip" worship music that is geared for todays youth. I am not a Christian but the CD's they advertise for on Time Life that are religious all get me moving. Unfortunately noone jams to Kumbyah anymore.
http://www.timelife.com/catalog/category.jsp?catalogId=1&categoryId=13 , this is the link for Time Life gospel and Christian music.

I attend a Vineyard church (nondenominational, empowered evangelical) and find that of all the churches I have ever been a part of, our worship is the best!
Here is a link to the Vineyard's US music website:

Also, I know we use some music from the Vineyard's in Europe so here's a link to them:

And one more to a related sight:

A fun idea would be to pick a few popular secular songs and change the words.... Look what it did for "Up where we belong" huh? huh? Loads of fun, and you could do it as a youth group prodject that they would like.
