okay, so were basiclly strangers. Hes from another state, but is probably going to move here when he's 18, he works on a ranch, he's a senior in highschool, and he likes to go to the lake when he doesn't have to work. i really don't want any akward silences (like on my last dates) so if you could tell me what to ask him, i'd love you like a cupcake!!!

Asking people about themselves is always good on a date. When there is a long silence between people it seems like they don't really want to know about the other person. When you get an answer you can bring up something on your end that relates to what he said. Sometimes you can just flow off each other back and fourth. If you run out of things to ask him personally then ask about the date itself like how often do they do this particular activity or been to the place you are going. You can think of it as an interview, but more personable. If you get stuck, turn on the radio. Talking about ex's is not good. Also remember to just relax and have fun.

love me like a cupcake? Well, thats more than enough incentive to answer your question.
Ask him...
How he likes it in his new state so far?
What are his plans for the summer?
Does he intend to work at the ranch long, or will he be pursuing higher education?
Try and ask open ended questions. If he answers any of the above do a follow up question like, "Oh really, why is that?" or "How does that work?"
If you like this guy then its okay to have some awkward silence as long as you dont spaz out and blurt out something stupid.

I always asked about where they grew up, what they did when they were kids for fun. What are they interested in? What are some hobbies. If he works on a ranch, does he rodeo? Any guy who rodeo's loves to talk about, believe me, I married one. It's interesting too. Try to get him to tell you some stories about his friends when he was in school and what they did on weekends. Ask them if they could live anywhere in the world, where would it be. Ask if he travels. If so, where all has he been and where does he like the most? Ask about his family, any bros or sisters? THe possibilities are endless. I always try to ask them questions about themselves though so that they don't think you only talk about yourself. If something he says sparks a memory of something that happened to you, feel free to share it though.

Ask him about the other state that he lives is (compare to your own) and ask about working on a ranch. It sounds like you two will have enough different about each other to have some good conversations.

And good luck!
