It's inappropriate. I would think the clothes are the reflection of both the biological and social aspects of being. For women, it's that feminine aspect which makes them want to be desirable and make themselves look presentable and nice. For men, It's different, Men are Masculine and project themselves a differnt way. Now put a woman's dress on a man and he'll look rediculous. I just don't think it's the right thing to do.

In ancient times, the Babylonians would cross-dress for the New Year parade, called the Akitu. Some would dress as the opposite gender, others would put together an outfit that was literally half and half.
Give it a try. You might enjoy it.

First let's talk about the word sin. it's not the big scarry word that has been yelled at us. The word sin (as it was used in the bible) is an archery term that means to hit anything but the bullseye,
I don't think how you are dressed has anything to do with hitting or not hitting the mark with God.

Deut 22:5 A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this.
There is good reason for this. God created male and female to fulfill specific roles, especially in the family. A blurring of these distinctive roles can only weaken family structures producing social ills. We see this destructive trend daily in our liberal societies.
So, once again, the law of God is not arbitrary but sound common sense.

I believe this might cause gender confusion which would lead to impure and immodest thoughts. If a man has these tendencies he should not encourage them, the savior understands through the atonement and can work with the individual to get them back on the right path.

well if it is done solely to excite the feeling of lust in said man, than yes, lust is a sin...
but if it is really just a joke or a prank or if you are an actor required to play a woman on screen or something to that effect than no, there's nothing morally wrong or biblically condemning about that.

I don't see how a clothing style could be a sin. Trying to be something you are not maybe could be a sin, but just wearing "women's" clothes wouldn't be. All clothing is just material covering our body anyway, so what does it matter what it looks like?

The whole thing about men wearing women's garments and vice versa.... long hair an embarassment for men but a thing of pride for women...etc...etc... is simply symbolic of a bigger issue.
These things actually refer to homosexuality. Men are not to "be" women and women are to be women. Eve is even told that her desire will be for her husband even though childbirth will be painful. The fundamentalists' view that women can't wear pants is so offbase. I've seen women's pants that are obviously cut for a woman and I wouldn't be caught dead in.
