I have the same problem when my thyroid medication needs to be adjusted. Its time to see the doctor and ask for full thyroid function testing. T3, T4, and thyroid antibody too. When mine gets low i loose hair like crazy and its becomes very dry, brittle, dull in colour but bounces back beautifully after medication adjustment. give it a try

Mine started falling out when I started using Levoxyl. When it was time to renew my perscription I was told by the doctor my thyroid was to high, and lowered my meds down 3 points from .175 to .1
I do not know if that was the true reason or not, it seemed strange that it started falling out on levoxyl. but not on synthyroid at the same strength.
I have also done some reading, one idea was the hair started falling out because of dryness, because thyroid makes your skin very dry, it does the same thing to your hair. In my reading it was also suggested to use Evening Primerose. You might do a search to see if Evening Primerose would help you. And also if you have been checked by a doctor recently it might be a good idea to go again. There are foods that interfer with the thyroid function.
Since you are Hyper, not Hypro it might not be wise to use Evening primerose.
Preliminary studies in Sweden are relating Evening Primrose Oil to an anti-oxidant in that it also counter acts the formation of free radicals. Free radicals are most often associated with the aging process. Maintaining health is just one of the benefits of Evening Primrose Oil. Evening Primrose Oil also being studied extensively in England and Europe for its pain reduction in
association with arthritis, controlling complications of diabetes, controlling liver and kidney damage due to alcohol, depression, Multiple sclerosis, skin/hair/nail repair, and most impressively, controlling sever symptoms of PMS.
Evening Primrose Oil is a natural, and the richest, source of Gamma-Linolenic acid. It contains about 72% Linoleic acid and 9 percent GLA. Since it contains the essential GLA, evening primrose oil is highly valuable to those who cannot otherwise form enough GLA. This would include those who do not get enough essential fatty acids in their diet, drink or have drunk excessive amounts of alcohol, have low thyroid function, or have received radiation treatment. The direct source of GLA takes the pressure off the body to produce the necessary amount of GLA for optimum health.
The best and perhaps the safest way to know what is wrong is to go back to the doctor and get checked again. And if your insurance allows request being up on synthyroid, instead of levoxyl if you are taking levoxyl. Synthyroid will cost more.
