I mean, she could have found out that she was knocked-up by some Roman dude she had a one night stand with and just made the whole thing up to cover her indiscretion, and keep from being killed for adulterous behavior. And, Joseph played along to keep her out of trouble and because he loved her and forgave her? Just a thought...

The simplest explanation tends to be the right one. Just a thought.

Well, if that were true, it would make the entire bible wrong, for it all has to be right, or it all has to be wrong.
Also if it were a made up story, how in the world could she have made that part up, and had the rest of the profesies fullfilled by this child from the old testament? Could not be done, not even with hundreds of co- conspiritors.
So, the story is true, she conceived as a virgin, via the holy spirit to fullfill what was fortold in the old testament.

OK, now if she did, explain how her son, walked on water, heeled the sick, gave food to the poor where there was no food around, how her son died for our sins and rose again in three days and how she could have still been a virgin when she gave birth?
Jesus was a blessing from God and he choose Mary to bring forth that bless and messenger from God to do God's will and it's because her and Joseph trust and love for God that they welcomed it with open hearts and mind and this is what all ppl should do and watch the miracles and blessings pour.

Uh, the immaculate conception has nothing to do with Mary getting pregnant. The immaculate conception is about St. Anne getting pregnant.
Also, many Biblical scholars argue that the virgin birth was a relatively late addition to the Gospel story.

The Immaculate Conception concerns Mary's mother- Anne- being born without Original Sin - NOT that Mary conceived Jesus without sex!

If Mary had been accused of such, the accusation would have fallen on its face once it became apparent who her child was.
The fact that He grew up to perform all sorts of miracles -- including His Resurrection -- would lay to rest any accusation that she became pregnant in some other way besides the power of the Holy Spirit.

First of all, the Immaculate Conception is regarding St. Anne (Mary's mother) who gave birth to Mary and Mary was conceived without sin. God's preparation for her to be worthy of being the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Angel Gabriel came to Mary with a message from God and asked her to become the mother of our Savior and she consented and gave birth to Jesus, having conceived by the Holy Spirit. "The Angel Gabriel greeted Mary with "Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee" and in some translations it is "Hail, highly favored one of the Lord,....." Mary was conceived without sin and full of God's grace so she never committed any sin as you suggest....

Interesting thought :-)
That would have been such a wonderful forgiveness from Joseph :-)
Anyway, I suggest you to be careful when you wish to tell about this scenario to Christians... lol

ah this is something new, or not. It is true that women back then get punished for the crimes of men, and the men go free. It is possible. But who was the roman dude, is he God? lol

Your ignorance is showing.
The immaculate conception refers to Mary's own conception (immaculate meaning "without sin").
You've confused the immaculate conception with the virgin birth.
