(And I don't need any comments that are off-topic, like, "Well maybe she wants to be out of it." Productive answers only, please)
I still need to keep her "contained" at times while I do dishes or laundry - she's walking, but not well enough for me to let her wander without me being right there watching.
We don't have a traditional high chair - just a small one that ties down to a chair and she's miserable in that. I don't like to use the Pak N Play because I nanny 3 days a week and when we'd go to their house and I had her playing in it, she gave me a hard time about napping in it. When I quit putting her in it to play, she started taking naps much easier in it.
I'm stumped. Does anyone know any tricks or products that I'm not familiar with?

They make interlocking baby gates that make a circle so your baby can play on the floor in a designated area, safely. JCPenney sells them as so a few other companies.

This is going to be a hard answer, but she needs you worse than the dishes and the laundry. This is only for a few more months. Soon, you'll be able to trust her for a few minutes at a time. Do your chores while she naps, or find a mom with whom you can swap.
I do agree that a child gate for a doorway can be invaluable--there are inevitably moments when you need to answer the front door or run to the bathroom. Hopefully this will work for you. I do think that at 15 months, she's probably too old for the saucer, especially if she's getting out.

Unfortunately there comes a stage when you just have to realise that you can't "contain" them and get things done. Kids grow up, move faster and just won't stay put no matter what wonderful playpen or bouncy chair or twirly car you put them in. So, be thankful your child still naps because THAT is your time to get it all done. But in time the naps will get shorter and they too will disappear. Great you have a nanny too because I had to live with a messy house with only the most basic comforts of clean laundry and dishes until the school years began.

Hmm- you could try a door jumper, or they make them now that are free standing. At 15 months she's probably going to get irritated in just about anything. They make large play yards that you can set up (kind of like a cage!) and just put toys in there for her. Or you could get a gate that sections off the room you're in, so she can just be in there with you. Good luck!

I have a large play pen that is they sell at Babies R Us. It has 8 sections that fold into various shapes. It is portable and will contain a child. I have 18 mth twins and I will put them in there for a few minutes if I need to contain them.

Eventually all children learn to escape from their confinements. Its part of growing up. How about baby gates in doorways.? Or childproof your house so she can walk or crawl around. I used something called "Johnny Jump-up" It hung on spring from doorway and they walk and pick up their feet and swing. He could see television, out the front door, me folding laundry, cooking, doing dishes. But they outgrow that too.

My daughter kicked apart her crib at that age and wrecked on high chair. She would play in her play pen but loved to throw everything out, Can you child proof one room with a gate?

You can buy a door gate to enclose a safe room in your house or even the area gates you set up in the middle of the room. You can find these at walmart, baby depot...etc.

You might try a baby gate, contain her in the kitchen with you while you are doing the dishes etc...
Good luck
